All right, y'all saw the youtube tapes of the photoshoot, but did you listen to them? I was ready to push that awful Alan Radley, or whatever his name was, right out of the empty penthouse and over the ledge. Whenever he was on camera, Radley was just brown nosing as hard as he could, and sucking up about how legendary the photographer was and what a great star AP was and doing it in repetitive and unimaginative terms. Merv Griffin without the humor.

Now, in the first segment when Radley talked about AP getting ready for the shoot, he made those little comments about AP's eyebrows and some other, um, "stuff" and I thought, "Darn, he's either needling our boy, or he has NO interviewer skills or both, and then Radley makes up for it with a bit of flattery.

In the second segment http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nqgpVT-nAJY You HAVE to listen. That's where you discover that Radley is a snide hypocrite. After he has gone on and on about how wonderful this all is, you can hear his real opinion when I guess he thinks he's no longer on mic. He's jeering!

Doesn't Radley get it that a photo shoot is WORK? And that the only phony posturing going on HIS?
:mad::mad::mad:

Somebody stop me before Barney has to sanction my posts!!!

I didn't hear any of that, I will have to listen again. But, the one thing that I do agree with, the Alan guy sucks as an interviewer. It seemed that he had no idea what he was talking about. He must of had cue cards (cheat sheets) somewhere. I only watched for AP, I suffered through Alan speaking.

Totally agree with you. Metro Sexual? I know what it means, but I don't consider Adrian to be metro sexual. This guy was an idiot!!!!!!!

This could have been fascinating. The "host" kept repeating "this is the AP/AG photoshoot" and "they're doing their thing." He could have talked about who AG was, who AP was, what the various people at the photo shoot were responsible for. (I wanted to know exactly how that reflective surface someone held up would affect the light and the photos.)

His interview was slightly better. It has to be hard to know what to ask someone you don't know personally. I wonder if there's some sort of general questions that can encourage a celebrity to start talking about the things that interest him or her the most.

An unprepared 'journalist'? Perhaps the 'journalist' is stretching it. Just unprepared.

If AP wanted to be metrosexual, he'd use eyeliner, thin his eyebrows and use a bit of mustache wax to stick down the tufty bit. He might be more attractive to gay stockbrokers, but that wouldn't do it for me.

Hey, Radley, the next time you want to do an interview, you'll need to actually do some homework so you know something about the people you're talking to. And next time you ask a star what he has coming out, make notes so you can repeat the names of the star and the film at the end of the interview!!!

Grr! He's made me so mad I'm splitting infinitives. ;)

Yup--spit a few for me too, Cool??? This guy was totally unprepared for the interview. Even if it was a last minute assignment on his part, the least he could have done was Google Adrian and selected a couple questions and given a couple facts which would have made sense.

Oh well-- I turn off volume and just gaze at Adrian;)

What do you mean I'll have to sanction your posts?? I'd never do that! But if I were you I wouldn't waste the energy on the obviously talentless man. He has a show?? Coolwater he's not worth it, let it go, take deep breaths.

(grinning) That was me being restrained, Barney: no swearing.

Yes, of course you're right, that, um, hm, "gentleman" is not worth the trouble it takes to learn his name - and I haven't! On the other hand, sometimes a good, righteous rant is a tonic, you know? To suspect that an incompetent, gushing flatterer (is that name calling or restraint?) is something less than genuine, and then to catch him exposing himself like that is very satisfying. Since you can't see nonverbals on-line, you can't tell that I'm enjoying my outrage.

Seriously, though, the real irritation in it is that he was bad mouthing a couple of genuinely nice guys who do good work. And that's a pity.

 THAT man is no journalist! How he has a show is beyond me! Such a total lack of professionalism!! A gnat would have a higher IQ! I mean..he has two of the best guys possible to interview and his incompetence and jealousy (YES I SAID JEALOUSY!!) completely shot it.
Brown nosing??? When he did that interview I'll bet the stocks on toilet paper and chapstick shot through the roof! But THAT would have been OK had he been sincere. But then he slips up and shows his true nasty weasly self.
I'd LOVE to stick him in a photo shoot! AP makes it look easy but it isn't! It's a long and tedious process. Makeup is necessary to get the right shading and shadows for the face. Constantly stopping for retouches. Changing and redoing hair. All those changes in clothing. Establishing the right background, setting the lighting. Having to hold you face and body in a certain position as if frozen that way can be straining.
I used to travel with my neice to have hers done for beauty pageants. By the end of the day she would suffer bad headaches and be completely exhausted. Many of the photographers were extremely rude and impatient despite the fact they were getting paid a large sum of money for it.
OK I'm done griping now.:p

(admiringly) Now, that's a rant, especially, "Brown nosing??? When he did that interview I'll bet the stocks on toilet paper and chapstick shot through the roof!" That's also disgusting. :D

See, Barney, we're genuinely sore at the guy, but not so much that it is keeping us awake at night. If we were truly furious, we'd be writing letters to old Alan's employers, and making him unemployed. We're not cruel. (Even wishing him well, he's so dreadful at what he does, that I think he'll end up being let go without our "help.")

The world is full of such people. All the talk show hosts overdo the flattery, but the good ones genuinely mean it, or they're a bit tongue in cheek about it, or they're good actors and you'll never know they don't mean it. I have a hard time believing that most of them go home and are as envious and spiteful as this clotpate, and they sure as heck don't let themselves get caught badmouthing the talent. That's a good way to ruin oneself as an interviewer. My feeling is, that if this fellow's sneering gets him nothing more than some outraged ladies griping about him on a single thread in the e-verse, then he's getting off easy.

You are absolutely right you do have the right to vent. We all need to do that once in awhile. Yes, even I on occasion as my sister will attest to but I don't think this guy would merit the effort. I am trying to live a more peaceful existence and so am more selective over what I blow up over. Not that its easy, but I am trying to keep my blood pressure under control. So please don't think that I am trying to stop you from venting if you really need to. I certainly understand:)

;) I try to contain mine to short spurts Barney.
For the HBP...have you tried ruby red grapefruit juice? It works like a charm. But be VERY careful if you are taking prescription meds. It can cause the BP to fall to rapidly.

Barney

Thanks for the advice. I do like to do things naturally if I can rather than rely on prescriptions.

Is that venting? Hmm. No, maybe not: I think venting is when you get all wound up and then blow up and feel calmer afterward. If you have trouble with blood pressure, then that couldn't be good, and I'm glad you don't do it. In my case, I feel rather chirked up after hightailing around, the way people do after they have been sparring or playing a mildly competitive game. Alan is a fraud, we caught him, :p he won't fool us again, and so we win!

Are you allowed to play competitive games in fun, or is that bad for you? I suppose the natural control is to lower salt intake, get regular exercise, do tai chi in the morning and yoga in the evening? (whispered aside) And drink the ruby red grape fruit juice, Barney. It tastes good, and if it doesn't help your BP, at least you won't get scurvy.

Well I have let go of the What was that Idiots Name again? Can't remember:rolleyes: I am sure Adrian thought the guy wasn't with it, but of course being the professional he is it doesn't show. Adrian Paul is no more metro sexual than my hubby's @^%$. No pun intended. I was so annoyed i had to turn the volume off. Now I can just imagine Adrian would get a chuckle or two out of our little rants on this topic.

I think maybe we should just forget it and not talk about it here. I doubt Adrian would want any time or space on his board wasted on that knucklehead. He probably doesn't need to be reminded how ignorant and condescending the guy was. Why bother giving that guy any kind of attention at all as they say that in H-wood as long as they are talking about you it's a good thing so best not even talk about the loser. He's not worth the effort!
