Here’s a competition for ALL Adrian Paul fans… ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS THINK ABOUT ADRIAN!

We at adrianpaul.net are looking to find what YOU the fans consider to be your top ten 'moments in film' from Adrian's career to date.

The 'moment' can be selected for any reason. It might be a scene containing a gesture, expression or few poignant words to a full blown convincing action sequence so compelling that it demands attention.

Your selection should include a cross-section of performances, which showcase Adrian's versatility as an actor.

AND WE THINK YOU’LL LIKE THE PRIZE

After all this thinking about him, the prize for the person Adrian considers to have selected the ten moments that truly represent his versatility as an actor throughout his career to date will be a 15 minute telephone call with him. PLUS a personally signed photograph from his own collection.

In ADDITION…. your ideas and suggestions will form part of a professional clip to be displayed on adrianpaul.net

There will also be TWO runners up. Both will also receive a personally signed photograph from Adrian's own collection.

Sam, I think it has to be from one of his performances in any film or TV series that Adrian has acted in during his career. They want to know which of his performances in our opinions, stand out as the best of his acting career, When he's on stage at a convention or being interviewed he is still *performing* but in a different way than when he is in front of the camera bringing a character to life and making us believe that he is that character.That's when he has to truly use his skills and talent as an actor. They want us as fans to say which of his performances we think Adrian pulled out all the stops and gave his best performance and see which fan Adrian agrees with. That is my understanding of what they're asking for. :D

That was my impression, too, Tess. This site is a portfolio of work, as well as a place for fans to have fun, and we're helping select the work to show off. (Victoria? Is that right?)

My poor old computer is on its last legs; it's 10 years old and has no - well, I almost said no zip, but it does have a zip drive. Anyway, I've never kept video clips on it, or tons of photos, let alone done any capping. The poor thing is in the shop having it's useful parts added to a new machine, and I'm using a borrowed machine from the office. Still, if I can find photos, I may have a whack at it. I can't pretend that what I like will thrill anyone else, though. Dare to Be Yourself!

Exactly as the title 'Moments in Film' suggests we are looking for the top 10 moments of taken from any movie, or TV series.

And please don't worry about the quality of images/screen captures - they just have to be good enough for us to be able to recognise and locate the scene you are referring to.

For anyone that is trying to get a screencap, an easy way to do this is by using a program called "VLC media player". It is a program to watch most formats of video which also has a screen cap button.

Thanks for the support my fellow PIC's! But I'm not letting you all off the hook THAT easy!! OH NO!! For those of you who think you can't...YES YOU CAN!!!

Download the FREE Trial Version that is near the middle of the page. EASY PEASY!! Then browse the web at places like You Tube , Hulu and even AP.NET!! Or play the dvd on your pc. When you get to the scene you want...just hold the right click button down and hit the key at the top right hand side of your keyboard that says PRINT SCREEN. It will bring it up in a frame for you. You can resize it if you need to. Then hit save and give it a name. Then follow Sue and Victoria's instructions for sending it.
Why am I sharing my secret?? Because I love a good competition! And I know there are many out there with mad pc skills. But even if you don't know a lot about pc's you can still have an even shot at winning.
If I win...GREAT! But if not...at least I had the adventure of trying! AND I got to look back on tons of Adrian's wonderful work! (And I didn't suffer a bit of eye damage. :p)


Now about the Warden.... can't get him drunk at the bar...the old buzzard doesn't drink.
Can't use the pink furry handcuffs. Using those kept me buying certain pieces of new furniture. And the Warden has gotten cheap in his old age.
But I'm thinking that maybe if I put a dog collar on him and toss a pair of red stillettos and a few other trinkets in that closet with him....that my EXPERT Lawyer and our resident team of Legal Eagles here can keep me out of the pokey.:D
Besides I NEVER do what he wants any way. It makes life more interesting.:p

Thanks for your encouraging response, however, my issue is that I only know a couple of Adrian's scenes that I consider brilliant so far. Have not seen enough of his work through the years. I do not think I could reach 10 in the time allotted.

Oh yeah, how long do we have to collect our answers and how do you submit them just in case a miracle does occur?

It does not matter how much of Adrians work you may have seen. You can always pick your favourite ten moments from the work that you have watched so far. By the sounds of it you have a lot of enjoyable hours still to come to be able to watch Adrian in something that is new to you is always a wonderful way to spend a few hours.

And what a great time to do some of that veiwing now when you have the chance of winning a phone call from Adrian.

It's kind of an intimidating task. My taste doesn't represent anything other than my own cinematically-uneducated taste.

:p Cool I don't know Jack about the film making process other than what I have learned here from Adrian and fellow fans. But I know what I like!!
My problem is that there are just so blame many to choose from! And I don't have ALL of his work either!

But we have been known to complain on occasion about how we as fans who buy the products are seldom asked for our input by the film makers and TPTB in the film industry.
I think it's Great that Adrian is giving us the opportunity to share in this adventure!:cool:

Lucky D, Anthony is Truly a Good Son to have given you season 6!!;) It's great you got the other 5 seasons too!
Adrian did some Really Great work on that series!! And there were SOOOO many other Great roles he has played! I enjoyed going back through them! There were quite a few that came VERY close to my Top Ten! So it was a VERY tough decision.
I can't wait until the competition is over just so we can further discuss some of them!!

We have just started to work through some of the entries submitted for the current competition.

One thing that has come to our notice is that many of you are listing what you consider to be Adrian’s top ten ‘roles’ as opposed to his top ten ‘moments/scenes’.

If you have already sent in a submission and for this, or another reason, it does not quite match the entry criteria you will have now received and e-mail from us.

If you have entered and haven’t received an e-mail, then rest assured that means that your entry was just what we were looking for!

We are trying to ensure that when the entries are passed over to Adrian, they are all in the right format/style to ensure that everyone who has entered stands a good chance of success.

You simply tell me what screencaps you need for what scene and I usually have them or...being the research rat I am...I can find them! If not...and I have access to viewing that particular film footage then I will view it and give you the screencap and even the time on it.
If you do not know the Episode then sometimes describing it can help me to help you find out which one it was. (Those name the Episode Trivia games come in quite handy!)
If you do not know how to combine the pics and your description into a single email....then I can help with that too.
What do I get for helping someone else do theirs??
I get the satisfaction of knowing that even if one of my dreams didn't come true.... I either helped someone else make theirs come true ...or at least gave them a fair shot at making it happen!
I get the joy of knowing that even if neither myself nor someone I helped didn't win... that at LEAST WE TRIED!!....AT LEAST WE TOOK A CHANCE!!
And SO WHAT if we didn't win the Competition?? We'll be disappointed OF COURSE but we still WIN the pleasure of searching out our treasures by watching Adrian's many performances.
When I came here to this forum 6 years ago I knew NOTHING about how to use a pc.
But there was a member on this forum by the screen name Dreamer. She's a wonderful girl from Romania. She was VERY patient with me and taught me almost everything I now know!! And during that process we became the best of friends.
Since then I have been able to make many other friends because of what she taught me. NOW it's my turn to help someone else do what she has done for me. And it was through Adrian that I found her and many other friends.

When i came here to this forum ,1 year ago ,i knew notting about screen caps
And notting about post pictures ore making self caps.
Tovie and Kat ,two wonderful girls ,learn me that all
Uploaden ,downloaden,rename pictures ,etc.
And how to post the pictures on the board ;)

It is great to hear so many of you have had a lot of fun with this competition and from the emails l have received many have learnt new skills also. The deadline to get your entries in is getting close so get those ten moments chosen soon and entries sent off if you have not already :)

And yes over time there will be more competitions run on the Forum. The prizes and format of competions will be different to keep it interesting and allowing everyone to enter once again.

Hi Everyone,

I'm Meri. I've been lurking for a long while and have been a long time Adrian fan.

I entered the competition too. I've been trying to win one of those phone calls forever (although I have NO idea what I would say LOL). It was fun to review Adrian's career. I chose to take all of my top 10 from Highlander, mainly because that's how I discovered Adrian and Duncan is near and dear to my heart.

I didn't do the screen caps, but took photos with my digital camera of the "moments" and included them. I didn't realize Adrian was judging (I missed that) so I hope he's understanding about some of my comments :rolleyes:

Adrian has confirmed receipt of all of the entries and now comes the task of sifting through them all.

To that end, it may take a couple of weeks for him to narrow it down to the winners so he has asked if everyone can please be as patient as possible.

Poor man! I used to judge Science Fair: it's sooo hard to decide which entry is better when they are all so different. And this is mostly a matter of taste!

Hm. Maybe he could rationally sift out the entires for the few best ones, and then see how they look after a couple of glasses of wine. Couldn't hurt, and it might make the process more fun. ;)
