Well its not exactly new... But its new to me... I bought myself a 1974 Honda Motorcycle tonight. I've been learning to ride and got my permit a few weeks ago. Now I just have to fix this one up a little and get it ridable and plated.

The way gas prices are lately. It could be another good thing LOL. Because Bikes and Scooters get great gas mileage.

One I get comfortable on it. I can then go take a test to get my license. Something I have been working on since after my birthday.

Hey Matt--don't know what's up

When I click on your links, it says image hosted by Tripod. I don't thinkthe server is very friendly toward picture hosting... do you have another link?

Same here:mad:
I pray the the Lord keep you safe on your "new toy"
Unfortunately Ive had too many family members hurt and killed on them for me to appreciate the thrill of riding them.

Isn't it amazing that my PC, across the room can get your pictures, where Stephy can't. I have no inclination to ride a motor bike again. Not that I ever had a powerful machine. You'll have to chat to Steph or even her sister!! Steph is an ex fast cat! not a driver but a passenger. Now her sister is a biker! In her garage she has a Motor Guzzi sporting thing that goes quick. Oh and a Harley 1300cc low rider.

Just you take it easy!

And polish those pipes!!!!

Sorry about that.. Tripod has a fail safe feature. It won't allow hotlinking of pictures. You usually have to refresh the image or copy the address over and refresh it. It can be a pain. I forgot to put that..

Well I never really had a desire to ride a motorcycle. I recently just started gaining a interest. I've been taking it slow and learning. I was getting asked alot at my auditions if I could ride a motorcycle or anything. I said I didn't and I decided I better learn how too. So this is for me to learn on plus for acting reasons. Knowing how to do it if ever needed again.

I don't think I would look very good in all black leather. LOL. Not one for leather pants. But I could pull that off if i had too. I'm more of a sport type biker. One with color. I have my black and blue Immortal bad Boy motorcycle jacket I made that I'll most likely wear with a helmet while riding. I've been working on fixing a few things on the bike today. Luckily I have a backyard I can drive around and practice in before I take it out on the road to get into trouble with.

I'm glad you are having fun with your new toy ,Matt. I do agree with the others about being safe. Please always wear your helmet.I personally know of too many serious accidents with helmetless riders. Also wear thick protective clothing to avoid "road rash" if you have to put the bike down.:)

Roadrash would not be conducive to doing a "love scene"  ;)

Yes I had planned to be very safe.. I've been learning and trying to get to know how the bike is. There are a couple problems that need to be fixed on it. The throttle is sticking on it some. As well as the gears aren't shifting to well. Just getting it back into neutral was being a pain. Which is where it needs to be. For it to start. It has been sitting for a long while not being ridden. But those problems are what I am going to work out over the next few days hopefully

The good part is I did get it running today and was able to ride it in the back yard at slow speeds. It was fun. The not so good part. I was turning and hit some loose ground and had to lay it down on it side. I wasn't going very fast at all less then 10mph. I was riding it after too. Needless to say I am ok just a little sore. But most of that is from the added softball practice I had today too. But yes I am going to be careful. Luckily it was grass and dirt compared to road and gravel. Its very easy to make a mistake and screw up. One reason why I am taking things slowly. Rather then just rushing out like alot of people have been known to do.

wow, very exciting! By all mans be safe but have fun also. Being an ex harley rider and having had one of those wrecks everyone talks about, i can tell you it is not a safe thing but then so few things are. i had a friend who died cause he choked on a piece of gum. so have a good time with your bike, don't get into too much traffic till you are well aquainted with your bike. wear your gear, it saved me. congrats! wait till your first rally, they rock.
loud pipes save lives.

Well I have to get the rest of the bugs worked out of it first. I had to get new cables ordered today because one snapped and found rust on the other. So I'm replacing them both. Then working out the headlight wiring problem has been rough. But right now its sitting in a couple pieces while i get the new pieces to put on it. But it lets me fix a couple other things while i wait. Buts its going pretty good.

Just a little update..

Things are going really good with it. I am waiting on one small piece I have ordered which is causing a small gas leak. But other then that. I am happy with how things are on it.

Everyone knows how bad it looked when I got it.

(You Might have to hit reload on tripod pics for them to show other then their logo.)

I'm very happy with it overall. It is alot better than it was in the beginning. It is a nice bike for me to learn on too and having not spent much money on it overall.

But...Yes I'll be careful.

Matt - I LOVE bikes.....but my brother has been on one his whole life....One night he was on his way home from work, it was late around midnight or so, and on this one road near his home a truck full of idiots, drunk, ran him off the road. He crashed his bike and had to get another one. My point is that no matter how safe or cautious you are, people will still do stupid things, so be extra carefull at night. My brother had to go to physical therapy because he lost his helmet in the crash and his head slid on the road, luckily not losing his brains. He just got beatup some. He is now still on the bike and still goes on "runs" with his buddies and enjoys the freedom of the road.
Just a little story for extra caution, sweetie. Enjoy.

Stil can't access the links. Either it's me or....

One day, I am going to get me a bike, too. I LOVE bikes.

Sure Tina. I'll take you for a ride. Just have to come over.

I'm having a little trouble with it though. My battery keeps dying on it. So I had to get a new one but it keeps doing the same thing. So I am checking it out because it seems to be something else.

There was a joke at the con. Some were wondering how I was going to put the Highlander bumper sticker that I got on my bike. I am sure I can find a few spots. Around the seat back or across the tank is a couple ways. :p

Wrecks can be bad if you are not wearing your helmet. It is one thing I said I am definately going to be wearing anytime I ride one. I have one helmet but I'm looking into getting a better one with the full face guard.

Better safe then sorry.
