Today I went to a professional development class offered by the school district I work for about the warning signs of suicide. I figured this would be an excellent learning experience for me to have since this coming August will be my first year teaching and especially because I'm dealing with teenagers.

So anyway, the woman doing this class gave us a challenge: She wanted us to tell people. And maybe, just maybe, the knowledge would trickle down the chain and really save a life. She'd been teaching the class for 15 yrs at this point and had quite a few stories and instances where it had. So here it is...and once you read this....TELL SOMEONE ELSE! This is information we should all know. If you have any comments or anything to add, I'd love to hear it :)

I'll put these on here anyway, even though most of y'all aren't in Dallas County, but most cities have similar resources in place.

Dallas County Suicide Hotline: 214-828-1000

SOS: Survivors of Suicide: 214-747-3711
Also counselors at their school are great resources
