Adrian commented about the type of pets most likely to nip a child... Chows, are not recommended around children...as a matter of fact some home owner insurence policies will not cover you if you own one...next on the list, chiahwawas...sorry for the spelling, these mighty ones...I have 5, will not bother a child, unless being bothered first, and one nip...well lets say the child learns the first time. Rotties are protective, but seem to get a bad rap, pit bulls too...My own feelings are not to have cats or large dogs around newborns, or small children...at least thats how I felt with my first born.
