High-Brown Belt Testing on the 20th

There is a story behind this...remember the master issue...well, he is actually doing to the testing this time and we (all of the clubs) are having a BBQ after the test. Now, mind you, the BBQ was my idea and the date was supposed to be the 21st, but, apparently, he got back into town and took over everything. We had a brief discussion (face to face) last Saturday regarding the details, but, I don't think he heard anything that I had to say:mad:; eventhough he was standing less than 10 inches in front of me. Why are men like that; controlling??? I am working that day. I don't know if I can actually take the test and be there for the BBQ...decisions...decisions...:confused:

Hummmmm I realize that maybe he is just trying to help since most guys think they are superior at the BBQ thing,:rolleyes: however, I might just have to tell him that the day he picked is not good for me, due to work, and I will not be attending for that reason.
Then test when it is workable for me and invite classmates over for a celebration party.;)

It seems he is being controlling because he couldn't control other areas? :(

Thanks everyone...the down side is that he is the area master and has to be there. The thing is that I don't want to let my master down: He is expecting me to be there. It's a catch 22 any way you look at it.

L, I do sympathize with you. However, you must base your decision on what is best for you---not Master----.
He did not mind letting you down by changing test dates and "taking over" your celebration plans to suit his schedule.

If you feel that you are ready to test, and you can overlook the celebration take-over, and you can work all this around your work schedule, then by all means, go for it. However, if this is too soon and is causing too much stress due to all the circumstances, then perhaps, you should step back and take a deep breath and wait for a time more suitable to your schedule.

If he is a good instructor, he will understand you reluctance to test before you are ready.

We support you no matter your decision and are very proud accomplishments you have achieved.:D

Well....I actually went to the belt testing. I made it through, even though it was like a sauna in the gym and with me & pale skin, I was "very red" the whole time. I am now a High Brown. I missed the first break, but on the second try I broke the board....I hate testing in front of him.:mad:

The BBQ was actually a lot of fun. All of the clubs were there. All 4 masters and today is my masters' birthday, so we had a cake for him. I tasted Korean food for the first time. Don't ask me to tell you what it was, because I have no idea, but it was goooood. However, the hot sauce that they seem to spread on everything burnt the hell out of my mouth.:eek:

Then about 23 of us went bowling after the bbq. Yes, he was one of them (it was his idea). Believe it or not, it was a good night. Everyone got along and seem to have a really good time. I even got a "X". Took me about 15 frames, but I finally got one.:D

Next up, tournament on April 10th.
