I studied for 6 months straight for 1 test and I PASSED!! It was the composite science 8-12 educator certification exam, the only obstacle that stood in my way from being officially certified by the state of Texas to teach! Yay!

Ok sleepy time...All this excitement has zapped what little energy I have left from being sick. LOL. Just wanted to share my excitement :D

I'll be teaching high school science. It's funny that people think I'm crazy for doing high school...I feel the same way about the little ones. I'd be a chaotic mess trying to do elementary or middle school! LOL.

Thanks for all your congrats :) This is my second proudest moment academically speaking (aside from college graduation last December) because I passed it on the first try. I know so many people who have taken it 3 or 4 times and still failed. I've heard it's the hardest test given by the state of Texas too. Ok I'm gonna shut up now :D Even after a full day I'm still giddy about it. LOL

good for you- a few words of advice- don't be afraid- a:eek:nd if you are don't let them know it- take advantage of any mental health days you may get -take time everyday to sit on your couch hugging your favorite throw pillow, rocking back and forth whispering "there's no place like home, there's no place like home" and most important of all don't eat the cafeteria food.
I've taught special ed for 10 years at every level including college you'll do fine. ( now I sit at home and write fairy stories;))

Thanks Lt. Mac for the advice. LOL. I've been at the school I'll be at in August since last year so I've got a great support system. I actually spent a lot of my free time (I was a student teacher and then a permanent substitute so I had some) in the life skills room. I absolutely fell in love with those kids and the paras down there. I'm actually thinking now about getting an additional certification for special ed. I definitely admire you, because I know it's not always easy and you have deal with things a regular ed. teacher doesn't even know about.

Oh yeah, and in the year I've been there, I have not once eaten the cafeteria food. LOL. I know teachers that eat it every single day...I don't get it. :)

:DCONGRATS!! That is really AWESOME!! Just to add to Lt. Mac's advice : Never turn your back on them and ALWAYS look before sitting down. Oh yeah...if you are giving an exam and they say they have to go to the bathroom.. Tell'em to hold it till they burst...cause they're only going to get that nicotine fix.;):D

The first 15 years are the worst!! LOL
and make sure you have something relaxing to do in your free time. I find pictures of a certain guy work wonders after a manic day at school. !3 weeks vacation a year are pretty handy to.
