What are your answers to these three questions....just thought I would ask....Donnie
1. What book are you reading now....and would you recomend it?
(Just finished reading James Patterson, Step on a Crack. Very good...cried at some of it)
2. If you were to receive a hundred dollars and told you have to spend it on yourself.....what would you buy? (me it would be more books to read, there are never enough books for me to read...read at least two a week...and yes I work...read during breaks, lunch, fixing dinner, watching TV...)
3. If you were given a hundred dollars to do with as you would like, what would you do? (go to the nearest shelter in town, and give it to them to buy what is needed)
Just though I would ask.....
Donnie:rolleyes:

1. Im reading "Dark Challenge" by Christine Feehan. She's awsome. I love this Dark Series she is doing. There are 18 books right now.
2. I would use the money on books, clothes, going to the movies.
3. I would use this money on my children. Make sure all there shoes were fitting and clothes. Everything cost so much, even at Walmart. lol
:o(Covering my face here.) Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Suess for the billionth time. It's my own little tradition with the G-kids and right now most of my time is spent with them. But I prefer Scifi and on some occasions romantic novels.
Well, I've just bought new clothes, shoes and jewelry so I'd save it for something I'm hoping to do later on down the line.:D
I'd donate it. Because even though I don't have a great deal ; there are a lot more people who have a whole lot less and could use a helping hand.:(

1. Wilt in Nowhere by Tom Sharpe. A farse, Henry Wilt, a college lecturer in UK gets into a tangle regarding an over sexed lady who's married to a member of parliament. Sex, drugs, S&M, arson, bad language. Whilst his wife and four daughters (quads)are visiting their American relatives. They get involved in a supposed drug trafficing scenario with FBI and other agents in hot persuit of a mother and he 13 year old daughters. VERY INAPPROPRIATE!
2. Stash it with the rest I don't need anything at present. ?50-00 don't go very far.
3. Stash that as well. Sorry I wouldn't hand it over to a shelter and when you give it to someone for charity one never knows who benefits. Please don't think I'm a mean person because I'm not. Just careful.

Dont have time for books at the moment - it sort of comes in spasms - I read on the bus going to and from work and I've been reading the Centro newspaper that are free on the buses - I've got a Dan Brown (Deception Point) thats been sitting on the bookshelf for about 3 months or more but I'll get to it sometime.
Like VG ?50 doesn't go far - could buy a printing cartridge for my printer.
I would buy loads of dog food and take it to the local rescue home (Sunnyside) at least I know the dogs would get it. The only problem with that is I would probably come back with another dog!

1. I'm reading a book called "The Coming Plague: New and Emerging Diseases in a World Out of Balance" It's a very large book about many of the different microbes on the planet and how we are effected by them. Like our journey in the eradication of Small Pox, the origin of AIDS, the emergence of Ebola and Marburg viruses, and our role, as a species, in the contracting and spread of these diseases. Awesome book about microbiology if you're interested in that topic...Like me :)
2. I would buy some new clothes. I'm in the process of losing weight and have lost a total of 18 lbs in about a month and I'm already starting to run out of clothes that fit.
3. I would save it for my trip to California coming up.

Hi Fi, I really loved that book and first read it about the same time as the film was first released, as for me:
1. I 'm not really reading anything at the moment, but will be looking for a couple of good books to take on holiday next month.
2. Would easily blow ?50 on a few cosmetics.
3. Would probably by my grandson a pressy with the other ?50 or if I were to give it to charity it would go to our local hospice.

I read somewhere that there are loads of micro things in pint of milk. If you equated them to population they would all be Greek! Which is fun really as we're of to Greece in August. Well it's better than visiting a dairy!

There are loads of "micro things" in everything. You'd be shocked at how many microorganisms our body handles on a day to day basis. Most our body can handle, even if it does get us sick for a few days. I mean geez have you ever read up on dust mites? Ugh! But they are everywhere! Of course I don't handle them too well cause I'm allergic to them. LOL. I also like to inform people of yogurt :) and how you're eating something with bacteria on purpose to help your digestive system. OK I'm gonna shut up now. LOL. If you can't tell, I'm quite passionate about this.

1. John Fowles' "The Journal" (a diary). I'd recommend it to everyone who has read his "The Aristos" (he wrote it in his early age) - just to copmare how the persons view on life changes with age.
2. I'd have a nice evening with my friends in a cafehouse.
3. I'd buy a present for my friend's birthday (it'll be in a fortnight and i don't know where i should take the money LOL)
1. I'm reading Perry Rhodan (a sci-fi novelette) I would recommend it to all sci-fi fans
2. 100$ = around 73? *hmmmmm* I would use the money for a few DVD's or a few flowers for my garden.
3. I would give the money for my nephew to buy some new clothes or something he need. He is an autistic young man and he lives in a home for handicapped persons.

1. What book are you reading now....and would you recomend it?
The last book I read was the Dark Tower VII by Stephen King and I would definitely recommend the entire Dark Tower Series. It's awesome!!!
2. If you were to receive a hundred dollars and told you have to spend it on yourself.....what would you buy?
I would take it to Vegas and try to turn it into enough money to pay to go to the Vancouver Con. But if that didn't work then I would buy every one of Adrian's movies.
3. If you were given a hundred dollars to do with as you would like, what would you do?
I would use it to bid on something of Adrian's in the next Peace auction and give it to my best friend (who started this thread) for her birthday.

1. I am reading DreamFever by Karen Moning. I recommend reading the other books by her as it's about the Fae and Immortal Highlanders who are druids and keepers of the rituals to keep the wall up between Realms. Their is lots of romantic scenes in these books that make you wish you were the heroine.
2. I would buy black boots with black jeans and/or a little black dress that I could wear out on the town. Or maybe get my hair done.
3. I would give it to a single mom who needs help with food or clothes for her kids.
I`m not reading a book right now...but am always reading needlework mags and articles on the net
There is a sampler kit I want desperately..i`d put the rest of the money towards it and splurge...
I would buy G something that I want to get for him..and he`s a member here so it`s a secret..shhhhhhhhh....:p

Just finished The Oddessy for the 2nd time. (can you tell Im trying to help with homework--Ackkkkk)
Id save it to try to get to a con before I leave this earth:eek:
Id give it to PEACE
3 things...
well i'm starting a book right now by scott adams. (the guy behind 'dilbert', but this is not a comedy.) it's called 'god's debris', it's a philosophy based on occam's razor. it surmises that an omnipotent god annihilated himself in the big bang, because an omniscient god would already know everything possible except his own lack of existance, and exists now as the smallest units of matter and the law of probability. this one had me looking up all kinds of stuff, from buddhism in china, to hindu deities from india. he calls it a 'thought experiment', had to look that up too. get a free copy www.andrewsmgmeel.com/godsdebris/ (the follow-up is the religion war)
as for the other two: the $ for me-i would use it to pay off my visa from buying all the ap dvd's i can find :)
the $ that's not for me: i'd give it to 'peace' because it's been a while since i was in the position to give much away, you know what i mean?

2. Travelling, and surely London would be the first place to go. I just miss ist. Wasn`t there for so long.
3. I´d slit it in half. One half for me (London!!) and one half for charity, probably PEACE!
Well, that are my answeres, but to read the others was interesting too.

Hello,I just found this thread and think it´s so interesting to see what you all read or what you would spend your money for.
To answer the three questions.
1. At the moment I`m reading "Passionate Minds" by David Bodanis (who is an american professor, living in England, writing about a french poet ). The poet is Voltaire and the book is about him and his lover Emilie du Chatelet, who was a famuos scientist in her time, mostly ignored because she was a woman and therefor forgotten until today. But she was the one who translated Newtons work into understandable language and even developed it further and in the end prepared the way for Einstein ! It`s a great book!!
2. I would spend all the money for new books or AP merchandise:D
3. The other money I would donate for this special PEACE-fundraising project(you know what I mean):D
1. I'm reading "Saxons,Vikings, and Celts...the genetic roots of Britain and Ireland" By Bryan Sykes....I would recommend it to anyone interested in heritage and geaneology.
2.As for 100 xtra.... well theres nothing I want nor need at the moment, so I'd combine it with #3, and save it for a moment to give it to someone who needs it...I know alot of people don't like to just hand it to the homeless on the streets, or the panhandlers, its often thought these folks just buy drugs or alcohol....but Its not up to me to judge them...so I will give with a good thought...giving is better then not...and since I'm not in their shoes, I believe its wrong to not help based upon popular opioion/ideas that these people are all users in some way or another....of course I would divide up the total, and spread it around so more then one could benefit.

2. If you were to receive a hundred dollars and told you have to spend it on yourself.....what would you buy? Books and craft stuff, and at least one pair of heels.
3. If you were given a hundred dollars to do with as you would like, what would you do? Buy clothes and toys for my Toddler.

1. I'm reading Camelot. Yes I would recommend it. Everybody needs a little romance.
2. I would spend it on AP merchandise.
3. I would send it to PEACE. Since I spent the other in #2, I would share.
