Was just wondering if anyone here has read the Lucifer Box novels by Mark Gatiss? I was listening to the author on the radio the other day and they sound like a lot of fun.
Mark said that Lucifer is supposed to be the most devastatingly handsome man alive, so you can imagine where my thoughts instantly turned.:D
Apparently the BBC are going to serialise the novels with Mark G writing the screenplay. Sounds like it could be very good.

I have never heard of the author, but I know that the BBC make some very good series. Last week I saw Empathy. It was about a man, just released for prison, when he touched people he could see into their past and what bad things they have done. Of course, he rans into a murderer. At the end of that episode, he hopes that feeling goes away and it does, but when he touches his new gf, he can see into the future. I haven't had the time to go thru the tv guide and see if there is a second episode, but I hope there is.

I didn't realise who Mark Gatiss was when I listened to him talking about Lucifer Box on the radio. But I looked him up and then knew I had seen him acting on TV many times.

He has already done a huge amount of writing for television as well. If the books are as good as they sound then his resulting adaptation for the BCC could be wonderful.
I haven't heard of Empathy either Marjon, I will have to look out for it. Sounds a bit like the US series (can't remember the name) where the guy wakes up from a coma and can see what is going to happen to people when he touches them.

Stephy,
The show is called The Dead Zone. Patterned after the novel by Stephen King.
Just ended it's 5th season.

I have the Mark Gatiss books featuring Lucifer Box and they are excellent. The hero is an Edwardian James Bond, a daring and dissolute secret agent. I must agree Stephy that when I was reading the books the picture in my mind of Lucifer Box was Adrian Paul. Great minds think alike.:):):)

Thanks Phoenix,
It was great listening to MarkG talk about his character Lucifer and yes I also thought it reminded me of an Edwardian James Bond.
The interviewer asked Mark if he would play LB himself in the BBC series, he laughed and said he wasn't nearly handsome enough. That was when he explained that LB has to be the most handsome of men and we all know who that made me think of!!:)

Empathy was a tv-movie. But what a good one! I hoped that this was just a pilot, but no. A good, strong story. With all that drab on telly it is a rare find.
