I lived and taught school near Marietta for 9 years. My kids and grandkids still live just north of Atlanta now. I think Atlanta is a great big city. When I feel I need a rush of adrenalin again, I drive to and in Atlanta's traffic! :D I am now between central NY and coastal NC after retiring from teaching.

:) Downtown Atlanta I like. Especially the area around Emory. But I absolutely Hate the interstate traffic; especially "spaghetti alley". Love the mall but hate the Wal-marts. Didn't mind the different nationalities. I think that's cool. But Not ONE English speaking sales clerk in the place. You ask for help and they look at you as if you lost your mind. If I go to another country I expect to have to know the language or take along someone who can interpret for me. So that Really bugged me! Don't like Six Flags too much either. You should check out Wild Adventures in Valdosta. Much NICER!!:cool:

What a beautiful name! I went to Italy (Florence) in 1991 or so, and loved it. I felt at home there. In my 3 months in Europe, so many people asked me if I was Italian, and I could not understand it until I went to Florence. My hair is curly and long, and I seem to have that "look" of being a woman from Florence (Fizenze?). Then I understood why so many men asked me if I am Italian. I guess men like Italian women! ;-) Lucky girl!

Hello Beatrice!

I loved Florence...so beautiful. My hair is brown but eyes are green...men still seemed to think that my unusual look was "Italian". I was told I looked like the women in Botticelli's paintings and also, one man said also the women in Modigliani's paintings! Once I was asked if I was Spanish. Of course, as an American, my background is European but mostly British and German...as far as I know. I've done some genealogy and alot is Welsh, Irish, Scottish, and English. Maybe there's some Italian there somewhere. :-)

I didn't know Adrian's Mom was from Florence. He must love it there, too.

I remember when I was there, I went to a shop where there was an elderly couple who owned the store and the lady was helping me. The cheeses were tempting to me and I will never forget how beautiful the woman was when she gently took my arm and led me to some wonderful cheese and encouraged me to taste it. She was so motherly and sweet, and of course, the cheese was amazing! I really liked it there! I want to return someday.

You were lucky to meet Adrian. I would like to hear that story sometime. He seems like a kind man. That's a little unusual in the world of celebrities.

Yes I was so lucky to meet Adrian twice and talk with him very much.
I met Him last year in Leeds and in Budapest.
He is REALLY REALLY gentle with his fan and I have the fortune to be Florentine as him mum, infact we chated together in Italian, expecially Florentine.....:)
