I can't wait to find out either. Sounds like a pirate movie............
I think in the next year, we are going to be seeing alot of Adrian in movies all over the place. The Source, Eyeborgs, Seance, Nine miles down, Captain Drake..........omg, not to mention the book readings he's doing, plus the theatre. Don't forget the Shaolin martial arts he is studying......One busy dude there. Man.....talk about multi-tasking......it gets me all excited to where I can't wait to see and hear the results from all his efforts to stay busy.
 AP in costume with long hair again. Great news! The only thing that could be better is if it's a comedy!!

Sadly I wouldn't count on AP's hair being any longer than it is right now. Men of the Elizabethan Court didn't usually wear their hair long. He should look pretty much the same as he does in Lost Colony and that would be great!!

Sir Francis certainly had an interesting life, be curiuos to know which part of it the moie will focus on and how historically accurate it will be.

I want to hear the accent I really do. Tavistock, Devon, hehehe bain't be easy to do thaaat if you'm un grockle! Cockney is out AP. I'll send an email to Mr Mountebank. He will be pleased.

I am up to seeing AP in just about anything, a good swashbuclker would be awesome, half buttoned white shirt soaked with the sea spray....ahhhhh
but I have to admit that I like his hair short, the long hair thing didn't do it for me as much as the short
(((Perry ducks flying shoes))),
I was happy when he showed up on HL with the short hair
(((she ducks more flying shoes)))
got to run for cover, I'll be in my cabin below deck till it's safe
:p
Thanks for the info Stephy. I was going by a post Victoria made earlier. History never was my strong suite. I love both looks on Adrian. Gotta go check out that site.;)
(Laughing at Perry). Duck woman here come the TH sneaks!! Definitely not the AE's they could cause brain damage!!
:D Stephy I just checked out that site. Now I remember who Sir Drake was!!!:o This should be very interesting indeed!!

I guess we are all assummng that "captain Drake" = Sir Frnacis Drake, may not be the case, so for you long hair advocates there may be hope yet!!

OOHHHHHHHHHH Pleeeeasssse!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Long hair again, even if it is just extensions. Long hair on AP does something to my insides, like all fluttery or something. It suits him soooo much. Makes him look sooo much younger.
(That pic of AP with the long hair that someone made that says Hppy Brthdy from APFC on it is just perfect.) That 's how he should look for this upcoming movie, in my opinion. He looks good any ole way, but long hair, (sighs)
and that smile of his just won't quit. Ladies, I could go on and on but........
enough said..........

Stephy, the first picture you posted of Sir Francis Drake with tight curls all over is probably how Adrian's hair will be for the movie. I was talking to Carmel about the movie and she said that the producers wanted to do that with Adrian's hair and that he definitely didn't want to have extension put in to do it. Hope he's got it grown out enough.
Don't know if anyone else has mentioned this, but on hearing about the fluffy hair poll, Adrian told Carmel that he might just shave it all off even though during his recent Shaolin training he was asked if he would shave his head like the other student's and he said that he couldn't because of his work.

(just home from the tour yesterday and not caught up on sleep yet)
This was my understanding also.
I got home last night and am sick now. So not much else to post at the present. Except: The convention and tour were great!

Dunno Steph - looks more like he's up for a part in Eastenders as a long lost Mitchell Brother
 OH NO!! NOT THE HAIR!!! Not that he could look bad even if he were bald...But his hair is so ..*sigh*
Sharon D.H.
10-16-2007, 06:42 PM
Ppllleeeeaaaaseee!!!!!!!!!Not the hair........Without hair, he could convince me he was Kurgan's brother.......thanks Stephy......that's what I thought of when I saw your pic up there......He has the ability to pull it off, the highlander bad boy attitude he had after Culloden, killing all those Enlishmen for killing and raping, and burning all those women and children....That is the attitude that Adrian needs if he shaves his head..in a role like that, he would be amazing....play the bad boy for once.....And too, Adrian could also play on the series Prison Break, they're all bald as well.....He'd fit right in....
But, he would eventually have to let it all grow back,, which would suit me jjust fine....I like the long hair look better anyway....long hair is just mythingy with attraction, that's all.....
I like Adrian any ole way....he's just that good.....(hope all this doesn't go to his head hearing how wonderful, and great he is)(how sexy and masculine and how much he reminds of the warriors of old, wiht long hair)
Yeah, I love to talk.....

At the bottom of the article Stephy pointed us to, it mentions that Drake stopped by the Roanoke colony to pick up remaining unsuccessful colonists. Wouldn't it be something if Sir Francis met Ananias Dare? Do you suppose it would be something like Cole in Tracker meeting Troy Montana? :::innocent whistling:::
Now, back to important speculation about and discussion of hairstyles and clothing, etc. in "Captain Drake," and the all-important drooling over recently discovered pix.

Sounds like it should be a lot of fun to watch. I had been wondering how a film about Drake would fit into the SciFi Saturday night fantasy/horror genre and know I know. Its because the only thing they have taken from actual history is the name Sir Francis Drake. Now that's not a problem because this could be a very entertaining romp.
For some reason I keep finding myself thinking of Sinbad movies after reading this bit.:D
"Drake" stars Paul as the title character, real-life English pirate/admiral/adventurer Frances Drake, who sets out on a quest to find the legendary Tree of Life to save the life of his daughter (Pernas). Along the way, he battles the Spanish Armada, sea monsters, a mystical Persian sorceress and the legendary Norse God-creature the NidhoggCQ."

I am with you on that Stephy it does sound like an interesting plot line, l just hope the effects they are going to be incorporating into it are going to be up to standard. If nothing else Adrian sure looks good and l am sure we will all enjoy his performance in it.

Yeah Victoria, its the sea monster idea that worries me as far as the effects are concerned. Good CGIs costs a lot of money and if you are going to have monsters they need to be really well done.
But like you say seeing Adrian performing and in those costumes will make it well worth watching.
:D Maybe there will even be a bit of comedy thrown in with this one. It sounds like it'll be fun to watch.

Hey Ladies:(big grin)
A lot has changed in the few days I've been offline. Been moving, about to finish up over the weekend. Maybe this will be a great movie like POTC, with comedy, and lots of laughs. Either way, Adrian will look magnafique in those clothes and his acting is just wonderful. I just love a good swashbuckler movie with sailing ships, swords, and lots of diabolical intrigue. Lots of men and muscles.....gee, I can't wait to see more.......(sigh).. maybe he'll take his shirt off on the ship and work with his crew trimming the sails and show us his muscles. Hopefully, he'll show us that little mischivious gleem in his eyes and pull a few pranks that actually end up in the show.....
Show me more, please.........
:) Fantastic pics. Yep. He definitely looks amazing. I can't wait to see him in this role. Dying to see his comedic side show in on film again.

That is what Adrian called it - here -
Adrian himself is particularly excited by this ?comedic drama?, which is due for release on the Sci-Fi Channel in 2008.
