At first I have to say "sorry" for my bad english. I?m still learning :o

Today I had one hour down time and so I sat down with paper and pencil.
I don?t draw for a long time...around 15 years?!? But I saw this nice pic of Adrian from your last HLWW tour to scotland and so I did that drawing.
I copy(uups, the past of copy?) it from the monitor of my Laptop.
I never studied to do drawings, it?s just a thing like talent, what I like to do from time to time...
Remember I did it in 1 hour *sorry* I?m not really happy with this, but I will share
Here we go (http://de.geocities.com/lexa_64/ap_draw.jpg)

I?m a little agitadet, what you will say about..

I Can't draw to save my life--and what I have done makes people scratch their heads and go--huh? What? My Husband just laughs--of course, he's got talent in this fingers--unlike yours truly! That's why I love Photoshop and Adobe because I can cut and paste and do something that looks halfway realistic.....LOL!

I really admire people like you who can take a pencil in hand and create.... and I encourage you to continue to do that--

What wonderful skill!

Thank you very much :)
I?m glad that you give this nice feedback to me.
I also can't draw to save my life...and I will never trying to do *lol*

It?s just for fun and this drawing is not so good. Well, perhaps I do it again and then I take more time for that.

Hi Ute,

The past form of copy is "copied"! ;)

I studied Arts in college and got a degree out of it. I studied drawings, History of Arts and learnt how to appreciate Art.

You have never took a course, well, you do have a natural talent. Working with shades of gray is a difficult task but surely the most excellent way how to practice your Art. And drawing portraits is something lots of recognized Artists cannot do. The most difficult thing is to go from 3D and put it into 2D, which you didn't have to do since you draw this from a picture.

I like the hair in your drawing. Great work. The mouth and the beard are very good too. The nose is the hardest part but this one is not too bad. Don't forget we are not made of lines....a face should be drawn from shades of gray, working with the lights and darks. The eyes are very dark....? There is a slight distortion of the proportions, but may be it is real, I can't tell since I haven't seen the picture you worked from. Perspectives are very difficult to achieve. But you do have the comprenhension of it.

Surface it, it's a great work and I would be delighted if you would upload some other drawings of your own.

Of course, I'm not a professionnal, it is just an opinion. I'm not working into Art business since it was quite a challenge and no I'm not very good at drawing myself. It's easier to appreciate and to give appreciation notes then to do it ourselves!!! LOL :D

Hugs
Mel

Your drawing is lovely Ute,
I might be able to create things with a computer but I do so admire someone that can take up a pencil and draw freehand. I haven't attempted that since I was at school.
:D

Hi Mel, whow feedback from an expert *smile*...thank you.
And yes, I agree with you about the nose and the proportions, this is the part what is very difficult for me. I see that of my own...
Also the eyes are very difficult, we have a saying in Germany "Die Augen sind der Spiegel der Seele" it will mean like ..."the eyes are the mirror of the soul"
and so I mean, it is very difficult to paint eyes...

@StephyC
also to you: Thank you for that. Can it be, that you are "stepyac" who makes the great videos and wallpapers..? My favorits are always "Innamorata" WP and Vid. Great to meet you here also. :)

I am always impressed with people who have talent painting, drawing, etc. My husband is a wonderful artist. I told him that I wanted to paint something, so I got a canvas, oil paint, and the brushes I borrowed from him.

It was suppose to be this lovely snow scene. (it was in my mind when I thought about). Well the snow was okay, husband helped with shading, who knew you had to shade stuff. Then I put a house in the middle, with a fence...yeah...a third grader could have done a better house, but I wasn't through...oh no. I decided to draw a couple of birds flying over the house. Birds in the middle of winter, why not. When I got through with the two birds my husband couldn't help but laugh...It looked like the birds from a scary movie...they were huge. I just couldn't get them right so I just kept adding to them...The painting dried, went into the closet and I decided that I was a much better writer than an artist....So all you wonderful people who paint,or draw my hat is off to you.

Donnie;) l

Thank?s a lot for your opinions.
I need your opinions about that drawing. It is the best way to keep an eye of the good and not so good parts of my work.
huh, it?s very difficult for me to tell it in english *sigh*:(
It?s the same with fanfiction- what I also do (sorry, only in german) a honest criticism helps to go better in your work.
I think about to take a course...:D
I have definetly too much interests *lol*
