What is your favorite scene between Mac and Richie? I actually have a couple. The scene from Eye of the Beholder, where Mac is standing on the stern of the barge and Ritchie comes to say he's sorry that Mac had to kill his friend, the fashion designer and the scene ends with Mac teasing Richie and giving him a one-armed hug. The other is when they are both sitting on the steps sharing a bottle of Cognac and they renew their friendship. It ends with them both breaking out laughing. These two stand out in my mind because I think you see a hint of the real friendship between Adrian and Stan. Do you have a favorite?

Hi
I like the scene outside the house Mac is renovating when he wont let Richie hang the door and they talk about racing space ships.

Another one is when Mac gives the kiss on the head before starting to kill Richie in the Dark Quickening episode. That one is just frightening!

I like the one where Duncan teaches Richie that revenge isn't always a good thing.:)

In the episode with Cory Raines, Amanda and Duncan are arguing and Richie is there. When Amanda storms out, Richie says, "Smooth, very smooth; I'm taking notes."

I like that one to Erom, trouble is I would have liked it even better if Joe hadn't appeared to stop EDM taking Ritchie's head.
Can you guess I'm not a Ritchie fan? The character drove me nuts and I often wanted to give him a good slap.:D

I enjoyed the relationship between Mac and Richie at times, although I know Richie could be incredibly annoying as well.

Those are all great scenes, but my favourite is the scene in Eye for an Eye when Duncan is training Richie on how to use the sword and how to best approach a fight with Annie Devlin. We're getting a glimpse here of Adrian actually traning Stan in swordwork as well. :) There were some wonderful tag scenes featuring the two of them, and I've always loved that one mentioned above from Prodigal Son where they drink the Cognac together on the steps. It's hilarious when Stan forgets his lines, looks at Adrian, and they both break up. It worked so well because it seemed like they were getting tipsy on the booze so they decided to leave it that way and it works really well.

Sure Richie was a bit naive at times, but that was part of his charm. He had to learn somehow. I really enjoyed Eye of the Beholder.

Richie could be annoying but those two characters - Richie and Mac - usually played off of each other really well. They were opposites so it worked. Richie was explosive, naive and supposed to be boyish where Mac was the calming voice of the teacher. I liked the byplay between the two.

My favorite Mac and Richie moment was in the first season before he become an immortal. In Family Tree when Richie is trying to find his mother, Mac is very understanding and supportive to Richie.
Some people don't like that episode but I do and the flashback is good too.

My two cents...I have to admit that I really did not care for the character of Richie; however, the relationship between the two worked. I loved it when Mac hands the Rapier to Richie for the first time and tells him "make it apart of you". I also loved the scene where Evil Mac kisses him on the head right before he was going to take his head in Something Wicked. Then there is the final scene of Duende when Richie says "see Mac, I'm learning". It showed how his character was finally maturing.

I must be one of the few who loved Richies character. The 'smart-a--" kid (havent we all been that at some point?? I have--) maturing into a caring young man able to empathize with those whom he would probably have robbed or confronted before Msc's guidance.
To see Mac teach this brash young man, who so reminded him of his own early years, the treasures taught to him by the masters---priceless!:)

One of my favorite pictures and a great relationship. I wonder if Stan and Adrian still talk?

I loved all the characters of Highlander. They were a great team. Mac and Richie really worked. Plus Mac needed to be a teacher. It helped him evolve even more into the character we love. Especially after Tessa died. Richie was the one he would watch out for.
