Hello Fans!
I'm so happy to have found this website! I have very fond memories of 'Highlander' that I think only 'Highlander' fans would appreciate.
A little background: as a kid, I would spend the entire summer with my grandmother "Grammy" and actually remember when 'Highlander' came on tv. We would make dinner and plop down in front of the tv in anticipation. We would sing the opening song and Grammy would drool over how handsome Mac was. She was very interested in the show because she had traced our family lineage to Scotland, thus anything that has to do with such subject were favorites of hers. These times spent with Grammy were wonderful. They basically were some of the happiest times of my life.
Recently, Grammy passed away and we have since started the arduous process of cleaning out 30 years worth of stuff in her house. And what did I come upon?
EVERY episode of the 'Highlander' series on VHS. Yes, VHS. Huge box sets. She even had the movies. Fans, you can't even imagine how much that took me back.
Needless to say, I took every box set back to my apartment and have started watching them. I laugh at the awesomeness of these memories. And yes, I still sing the opening song. And yes, I have officially fallen in love with Adrian Paul all over again.
So, thank you fans and moderators for this forum and website. You are allowing me to relive the wonderful memories I shared with Grammy.
(This may be cheesy, but I don't care. I speak the truth!)

It's not cheesey at all magjmatt! Are you kidding?? It's absolutely lovely and heartwarming. :) Your grammy had very good taste didn't she. I think it's such a wonderful memory for you and I'm so glad that you have rediscovered Highlander and Adrian again through your Grammy. You have alot to catch up on if you're going to get back into the fandom. I hope you enjoy rediscovering ADrian, HIghlander and all the other films and TV series that Adrian has done since you have lost touch with him :)

Your story is lovely and special to me for there is a similar story in my memory. When my granddaughter was just a little more than a baby we had re runs of Highlander here and as I had her with me every day she started watching with me. I have to say she was a fan of Duncan from day one and would yell at Richie when he didn't listen and never did what he was told. *g* She cried when Tessa was killed (I thought it was good for her to discover that people die no mater how much we love them) and started asking her mom and dad to watch the tapes with her when there was no Highlander on TV. She is 11 now and still a fan of Adrian - she asked me to get her a signed photograph of Adrian at a PEACE auction and has it hanging in her bedroom. I hope she stays a fan once she is all grown up as there couldn't be a better and more worth of admiration star for her to be a fan than Adrian Paul. I hope she is like you and remembers me fondly when I am gone while watching her DVD's of Adrian's work. :)

Thank you Magjmatt for the heart-warming memories you have shared with us. Proving yet again that Highlander is timeless and that AP is the main reason. Hope you enjoy catching up on AP's works since then.
Your Grammy was no doubt a wonderful lady with great taste!!;)
