Sherlock Holmes?

Recent news tells of Guy Ritchie being chosen to direct "Sherlock Holmes" for Warner Brothers. He will be rewriting the script, basing it on a comic book version, with a vision of a more "adventuresome" Holmes. They plan to focus on his skills as a boxer and a swordsman.

So, when I heard that last line, the first thought for me was: Will AP be chosen???

Doesn't this sound like an interesting character and challenge?

Sounds like PINK PANTHER or GET SMART with a slight twist to me.
I guess what I'm saying is that sort of stuff has been done and redone so many times that Guy Ritchie would have to work a lot of magic with it to keep it from being humdrum.

Personally I prefer Sherlock Holmes as a serious character. JMHO.
