Ok. Can someone tell me what is the best stuff to attend at a jumpcon? Also What is the typical or average anyone might spend to attend one NOT including gas or other transportation, just the convention stuff?

Well it is hard to say what a visit to any one of the Jumpcons would cost as it will depend on how you will get there and what you want to do once there. If you go to the Jumpcon board here

http://jumpcon.com/phpBB2/index.php?sid=bb34130ec9d58138f4a779625f636bbc

and here

http://www.jumpcon.com/gpage1.html

you can see what the choices are. If you can find someone to share an Emperor's ticket with you get the meals with the star of your choice (Adrian of course ;)), the hotel room for two nights, a photo and an autograph, reserved seating at the Q&A of your choice (all Adrian's again :D) and at evenings entertainment for 425$ per person (the ticket is for two) You can't beat that price especially if you can drive to the Jumpcon of your choice and share the cost of gas.

Mind you if you wish to go you need to make up your mind quick as there is a lot of excitement about Adrian and spots at his table etc are selling fast.

Someone is so excited he even made a wall paper -see here

*Laughs* After spending $910 (Split evenly between two people) for an ECT (Emperor's Club Ticket) because we wanted that 'extra' autograph and that 'extra' photograph with Adrian (Two people have to split all the autographs and photographs on the regular ECT ticket), I'm still waiting for my JumpCon buddy to notice, both, Lizzy AND Peter there and ask me to spend another $120 (Split evenly for two people) just to get those extras for them as well.

The Detroit JumpCon was probably the most non-eventful JumpCon out at the time I purchased the tickets in terms of guests. Now, it's turning into an orgy of people I really want to see being the Doctor Who fanatic that I am. I'm really really hoping she's not because I soooooooo want those autographs and photographs. :D

So, as it stands now, the total cost for two people was $910. She's driving in and I'm flying in (I haven't purchased THAT ticket yet) and I just might have to purchase a hotel room for two more nights (Thursday and Sunday) depending on the cheapest flight I can find next month. So, with all that being said, for me alone, the cost will be in the area of $700-$1000 when you include the flight AND the extra two nights of hotel stay. I'm still trying to figure out which is more expensive -- the flight or the hotel.

In terms of cheapness, if you want to see more than just Adrian and you don't live locally, and you want more than one or two meals with Adrian, finding a buddy and doing an ECT is still the cheaper route. All in all, the whole thing is still bloody expensive (Indylander is SOOOO much cheaper) for someone who lives in California.

Ah, never say that. I'm far too stubborn to stay at home and affording something like this is TOTALLY out of the financial situation I'm in being a single stay-at-home mom. Luckily, JumpCon had a payment plan I could accept. True, I had to juggle which bills didn't get paid which month, but, we're still here.

The point? If you want it bad enough, you can do it. It doesn't matter if you make $2000 a month or $200 a month. It's ALWAYS doable one way or the other with the right sacrifices. It's just that the lower income you have, the longer it will take to save up for it. But, it's still an option. So, you can either talk about how it's never going to happen for you or you can start saving now. JumpCon for Adrian runs until December and there's always next year. ;)

i don't say that you're so rich person, but 910$ it's 90% to my wages.
If i leave to US, i can perhaps take the places for Jumpcon. But it's not the case.
Good luck to the people which can go here.
Bye Hélène

You don't spend $910...You spend half that (Which is $455)...Then you have a buddy pay the other half. The ticket that costs $910 is for TWO people. :)

I understand, but without wanting to appear crybaby, I do not even live in the USA, it would be necessary already that I pay the ticket of plane, then the hotel, then…
In any event, i have 2 little children I can't to leave like that.
Perhaps later in a few years, in hope than Adrian make still some conventions.
I count on you for the photos and the remainders.

*Laughs* If I wait much longer to buy the airfare ticket, it'll cost me about as much as it cost me to get the JumpCon tickets.

Thank the Lord, Im within driving distance of Dallas or I would not be able to ever attend a con. If I am not mistaken, this is the first time Adrian has been to one in Texas. Therefore, I purchased a Emperior ticket and if no one cares to split it with me, Im going to take my son. He has absolutely no interest in Highlander or sifi but is a gamer and interested in the new stuff.

Well being a stay at home mom, I have no income and my husband is a tight *ss, especially right now with the economy the way it is.. I am considering getting a part time job, then maybe I will be able to go.

Ahhh...DON'T YOU JUST LOVE THET TIGHT AS. ATTITUDE....:D Here's what I think...LIVE...LOVE...AND BE HAPPY...excess worry over the economy is giving in to fear the media wants us to live by...so we all watch so they get better ratings...a sorta WAG THE DOG...kinda thing...in the words of George Carlin..." It's one great big stroke job" I'll not worry or fear...just LIVE. With whatever is tossed my way.

Hear Hear!!! :D I feel the exact same way. I absolutely Love Life with a passion. There are so many things I want to do in this life and haven't done, but I'm working on it. Life should be lived to the absolute fullest and not waste any time. I don't want to get old and grey and have regrets. For instance, I've always wanted to go to Scotland since I was a little girl; then I finally did it in 2003. I have always loved the Country and felt connected to it, like it was home. My Grandfather was born in Glasgow and imigrated through Ellis Island. When I finally made it there, that place felt like it was where I was supposed to be. Just like home. I will never forget that trip and will go back.

I love music also with a passion. I don't just listen to the music. I hear it all, the sound, the words, the beat. I love to sing as well and am pretty good, at least I've been told. Anyway, here is a song that really touches the soul. It is by a band named Seether. Song title is "Rise Above This". It is about suicide but overcoming it. It teaches you hope and life isn't a loss.

Lyrics:[/COLOR]
Take the light and darken everything around me
Call the clowds and listen closely I'm lost without you
Call your name every day when I feel so helpless
I've fallen down but I'll rise above this, rise above this

Hate the mind, regrets are better left unspoken
For all we know, this void will grow
And everything's in vain, distressing you though it leaves me open
Feels so right, but I'll end this all before it gets me

Call your name every day when I feel so helpless
I've fallen down but I'll rise above this, rise above this
Call your name every day when I seem so helpless
I've fallen down, and I'll rise above this, rise above this doubt

I'll mend myself before it gets me
(I'll mend myself before it gets me)
I'll mend myself before it gets me
(I'll mend myself before it gets me)

Call your name every day when I feel so helpless
I've fallen down but I'll rise above this, rise above this
Forty eight ways to say that I'm feelin' helpless
I'm Falling down, falling down, but I'll rise above this, rise above this,
Rise above this, rise above this doubt
