we've had a very sad day today. Today, we said good-bye to our beloved 14 year old male Rottie, Taz. He was the best friend anybody could ask for. Here's a pic of him.

Ah, RottieGirl, I am so sorry to hear this. I know you will miss your sweet Taz. I love the pics, especially the one of him as a pup. He's such a cutie. Try not to grieve too hard, because our animal babies, who love us so unconditionally, wouldn't want us to be so sad.
This makes me think of my Scotty. He was a collie and english setter mix. He had a double layer thick coat of white hair and brown freckles on his nose. I got him from the pet shop at nine weeks old. His favorite trick was to balance his toy on his nose, and hold it there until I gave him the signal to flip it. He would, and then he would catch it with his mouth. He also hated going to the vet, and would crawl up into my lap for comfort while we were waiting. This was fine when he was a baby, but it was rather funny when he was almost a hundred pounds. He was my baby boy, and I miss him to this day.

My heartfelt condolences, RottieGirl. I understand your sorrow as I lost my Patches when she was 16 years. No other will ever take his place but Taz was very fortunate to have such a loving mistress.

Rottie, you are in my heart. :)I know how is the love for our "fur-babies". I lost -last April- my little kitty Micia after 14 years together. :(I loved her so much; she was my best friend and your Taz probably are sleeping near Micia.
God bless our pet and I hope you could be better in the next days....:)
Love,
Bea.
I am so sorry to hear that you lost Taz. He looked like a very sweet dog. I am thinking of you

Thank you all for all your kind words. We (my husband & I) know that we did the right thing, so he wouldn't suffer. We'll miss him a lot, but we also do have our memories of him.

You're very lucky that you had him for such a long time Rottie Girl. He had a good life and a long life and you can't really ask for more than that. Time will heal and you have your memories. My deepest sympathies to you on your loss.

Recovering from losing a friend is not easy. Hopefully as days pass, fond memories will help ease the loss.
:( Rottie I am truly sorry for your loss. And knowing that God only lends them to us for a short time doesn't make it any less painfull. Warm Hugs for you and your family.
