Hi all
We are really thrilled to announce that The PEACE Fund's 5th auction will be commencing on Monday 10th November and will run for 7 days. It has been a while coming but we hope you agree that it was worth the wait.
Go here to see the latest advertisement:

We have all trained Adrian well and he now knows not to throw anything away!!! I'll never forget the look on his face when Annie and I met up in Los Angeles recently and he very proudly pulled an entire box of auction items out of his trunk including some fabulous Cpt Drake items. He then tentatively offered his old worn out sneakers that he used to do his martial arts training, refusing to believe that anyone would want them. I assured him that indeed they would, holes and all! :D He is beginning to get to know us all too well.
Anyway, come by the auction over the next week - even if you are not bidding it is always fun to see all the items. Even though it is now automated, Victoria and I will still be sending encouraging emails to bidders :)
Kind regards
@ Carmel Macpherson

"If someone has a high bid of $50.00 and someone else comes in with a bid of $60.00, instead of the bid going higher, it replaces the old high bidder with the one willing to go higher on the item. Example: If you’ve placed a ‘highest bid’ of $50.00 for Adrian’s picture and the bidding has reached that amount, it will show you as the highest bidder. But if someone comes in with their ‘highest bid’ of $60.00, instead of moving the bid up to $55.00, it shows that person to hold the bid at $50.00 because they really have a bid that is higher than that amount. Just be aware that if you see yourself as the highest bidder and suddenly someone else is shown with that same amount, it is because they have a higher bank. It is a little confusing and will take getting used to by us all."
A little confusing? Just a little? And the bids aren't recorded on the site? I'm totally at sea. How can you bid if you don't know what you're bidding against?
This is probably easier than that sounds, right? (she said hopefully)

Hmm - OK - not sure how you got that out of what I wrote?? All bids are recorded on the site with a full bid history. It is just like Ebay to that extent. When you look at an item you will see who the high bidder is. I was talking about how the highest bidder system works. If someone bids more than you then you get bumped (naturally) however their new run starts from your previous highest bid.

Help!!!!!!!
I tried to register for the auction and it didn´t work!!
It said all the time: incorrect date format.
What does that mean and what mistake did I make?

Carmel,
Please forgive my confusion.:o But if I get bumped and another's name appears with my "starting point", how will I know how much to bid in order to be the high bidder? Would I simply repeat bid until my name appears? If so, approximately how long will it take for bidder's names to appear?

Sorry, Carmel, I got that about not recording the bid from this:
"Please make note of the amount you’ve registered as your ‘highest bid’ because that will not show up on the site anywhere." My bad: this is only talking about automatic bidding, right? eBay does keep a note of one's highest possible bid, but this program does not? Or do I still not get it?
OK, so this whole paragraph is talking about automatic bidding, yes? Let's say I decide to do autobid, and offer a maximum of $60 US, and tell the program that. The current bid, oh, let's say, appeace has offered $40. The program changes from "appeace is the high bidder, at $40." to "Coolwater is the current high bidder at $45." (Is the auto bidding in $5. increments?)
appeace says, "Damn, I want that picture," and bids $46. She's not using autobidding, and has no idea of how much it will take to trump me. Does she get an e-mail acknowledging her bid?
No change on the screen. appeace bids $47. Now, in one sense, she has outbid my current bid of $45, but since the program knows that I'm willing to go higher, my bid presumably jumps to $50. The screen still has Coolwater as the high bidder, but if I read this aright, none of appeace's bidding shows up on the page. (Eventually, appeace whacks me at $61.50. ;))
How's that?

It's okay to be confused - it is the story of my life ;)
The bidding will be no different to Ebay bidding. If you get bumped, you keep putting in bids until you are the highest bidder. If you had it on $60 and I bumped you because I said I would go to $70 as my highest bid, your name won't appear until you bid at least $71. What you will then see on the item page is Coolwater is the new highest bidder at $70. With this system we are using, all that is different to normal automated auctions is that when you get bumped, the "new" bidder starts their run at your old highest bid. In the above example that was $70.

"...when you get bumped, the "new" bidder starts their run at your old highest bid." And holds there or does the amount on screen increase with additional bidding as people try to bid against the highest bidder?
The auto bidding does increase in $5 dollar bids, doesn't it?

LOL...OK - I have decided that it really is all too confusing and have found another option in the software that let's us just use the usual $5 increments. The item information will show you all that Ebay does - who is the highest bidder, what the current bid is and it will tell you what the next bid needs to be ($5 more than the current)...if you bid that, and it still doesn't get you the lead because the other person has put a higher maximum bid amount in, just liek Ebay it will keep rejecting your bid until you bypass the other person's maximum bid. Of course, you may choose to drop out of the bidding at any time if it is going too high.
Also, remember that this isn't Ebay and we have done that for a good reason. We want to keep control of things so if you do make a mistake we can easily fix it for you. N:E:V:E:R: panic. Just drop Victoria or I a line and we will sort it. Good relations and good will are always more important to us than $$$.

Hi all,
it´s my first auction and I´m really excited.
What is a minimum bid? Is this the minimum price at wich they sell an item?
And do all items stay for the full 7 days?
Sorry for the silly questions, but I never did an auction before.

Hi Alexandra. There is no such thing as a silly question - ask away. The minimum bid is what your bid needs to start at and yes, if it is the only bid then it will sell at that price. Yes - all items stay up until the date and time listed as the end date.

The Auction has started and the items are going well.
Some of the items are very rare, after all when would you ever be able to get a pair of Adrian's old jeans, boots worn on the set of "Captain Drake" and the wonderful photo of Adrian and Jim from Highlander the Series days.
So if you have always dreamed about owning something of Adrian's, that is relatively speaking straight of his back(legs ;)) then now is the time to bid.
Click here to go there now.

A little bit of extra information about Adrian's Jeans that are up for auction right now.
For anyone that was on the HLWW Scotland Tour with Adrian in 2006 these will have a lot of meaning and memories for you as they are the ones he wore while showing us around sites in Scotland - Glenfinnan.
What better way to remember that wonderful trip than having the jeans that Adrian walked around all those great sites in.
Please feel free to pass on the information about the Auction to other site, lists, forums etc. The more people that know, the more money we can raise for the children.
Bid now and bid often ;)

You actually get to talk with Adrian on the phone:eek:. Holy crap, maybe I should bid then. I probably wouldn't have a clue what to say to him and be speachless for once in my life.
I know...is'nt that the coolest auction item :eek: Geez, what the heak to say....knowing my luck I might think the call was a tela market/sales shit and hang up...:o:mad: I honestly don't know what I would say, or ask him...umm mabe " hey there, hows it going...listen to whatever he'd say, and then replie with thats cool, take care, nice hearing from you...click....and then stand there feeling like the stupidest person on earth. I'm particurlary intimidated by his level of intellect so I can't say I'd be much good in a conversation. BORING FOR ADRIAN.

11-16-2008, 04:00 AM
He is actually quite easy to talk with. He is very good at making shy people feel comfortable with the conversation. I just started asking what his next project was and how it was doing. I also asked about the things with the PEACE Fund and he was very willing to continue to discuss that at length. The conversations were about 15 to 20 minutes and there were no gaps in the talking. The convesation flowed very naturally. It was a grand experience.
Littledevil
11-16-2008, 05:08 AM
I'm not a shy person by any means. I can walk up to anyone and start a conversation. I have even picked up guys for my girlfriends who were too shy. Adrian on the other hand is like a fantasy for me. So yeah I would be stumbling and probably come off as a crazed fan.::rolleyes: Hanging up and thinking Oh Crap I am a complete Idiot. LOL
I actually have a book I am trying to write when I have free moments. I am basing the hero on Adrian's looks and character and a bit of Duncan. I see Adrian being a lot like his character Duncan. Of course a Romance Novel. Here's a dream, write the book, get published, turn into a movie that Adrian stars in. :D I could die happy then.
I have even a better dream...write the book, publish it make a fortune, new york times best seller, have it featured on Oprah....take enough to pay my house off...and donate the rest and all proceeds to PEACE...directly to Adrian. Boy the look on his face would be priceless...he'd be so happy...:) (YEAH, like John Lennon said...they say I'm a dreamer. ) :D
Cara et Pax
11-16-2008, 05:57 AM
Those both sound like great dreams to me.
Adrian is somewhat like Duncan, but there are big differences too in personality.Adrian is much more humorous and a real prankster.
I also usually can tell in a picture if it is Duncan being played by Adrian or if it is Adrian as himself.Do you get the same feeling sometimes?
:o I finally got it posted at Mooseville. I'd have done it sooner but well....I haven't been around until now.
Gosh there are some REALLY great items on there!! Three chances to talk directly to Adrian and a chance to talk to Lizzie and David A. WOW!!
And the pants right off AP and shoes....Ladies can you just imagine  the cloning possibilities?? *Coco grabs her head and ducks a certain sword.*
A lot of priceless treasures for some lucky fan and helping out those little priceless treasures in the process. What could be better than that??

Less than 24 hours to go to get your bid on that dream item you have had your eye on :)
If you have not been to have a look at the auction as yet, head there now before you kick yourself for missing out on something great.
How great would it be to receive a phone call from Adrian to have a chat. The La Carrera Racing suit worn by Adrian is also available, this is as rare an item as they come. They say there can be only one, this is it. Plus much, much more....

Ok, lets apply both of those ideas. If I came into a bunch of money PEACE is the organization I would be donating too. Although, I would have one little stipulation, 1 kiss from Adrian :D. I'd still give the money anyway. Wow, up to $330 for a phone call from Adrian. It would be my luck my hubby would answer the phone and hand up thinking it was a prank call. Me rushing to the phone before he would hand up on him.
Adrian does such a ood job with PEACE.

There are now only two items left for the PEACE Auction. Two of the phone calls from Adrian where started a little later than the other items. This means you still have some time left to receive that magical call from Adrian.
Maybe you where bidding on something else and someone beat you to it, or you thought you had missed the chance. Either way bid now for the wonderful experience of having Adrian call you for a chat. :)
Bid NOW do not miss out on this great auction item.

I also have a friend who is a big AP fan and she will rearrange her schedule to sit in with me if I get advance notice. So I have a witness!

They will set it up perfectly for you i'm sure.
Talking to Adrian can be fun though.
You'll be able to ask him about all sorts of stuff.
Make sure to let him know you are a member of his board now too. :D
Definitely make sure to enjoy it for everyone else though.
Then you can come back and tell everyone about it.

Well I can't speak for the people running the auction however I did receive an email today asking me where I wished my items sent.
