:eek:I wanna be on that mountain too! Seeing as how I've never being skiing(hope I spelt that right), I'd gladly bring something that would let me slide down that thing on my butt! ...looks around.. hmm.. metal trashcan lid, pizza pan, rubber inner tubes... Who's with me? Renate? I'll give you the pizza pan and we can slide down the mountain together!:D:cool:

Hey Dragon Farm Queen,
best thing to slide down the hill is a simple plastic bag!!! Makes you so fast you will( and can) never stopp:D
I once did this as a child and ended up( or better down)in a river!:(
Also very successful is a tire. You can jump over the river with it.....(at least you wouldn´t sink in)

:D Ladies I can do the CPR. I'll even use a breathing mask with AP's face glued to it! *Sam firing up the photo printer and breaking out the glue gun..*
I also know how to do splints and body casting.:p

Alex I never tried the plastic before. Once when I was a kid the water froze in a pond and we used socks for ice skates (boy did mom tear us a new one for that!).
But going down a red clay hill in a box or being rolled down one inside a tractor tire can be REALLY fun!:D
*Sam scratching her head wondering "How on Earth she survived that childhood?" Then the light bulb moment...OH YEAH!! God looks out for animals
Fools and Small children!!* <BEG>

Hehehehe--one of the few times it snowed a bunch(well maybe 3-4 inches--but thats a bunch in Texas!:p) My siblings and I cut long strips of cardboard and used moms broom handles and "skied down our hill!!
Bubba got stuck, rolled down the hill and broke his arm:o We sure got chewed out for that one---Ackkkk (but it was worth it)

I'd forgotten about the plastic bag. Growing up my father couldn't afford actual sleds so if it snowed enough to warrant kids sliding down hills we just used anything that seemed feasible at the time which is were metal trash can lids, pizza pans, tires, oooo and plastic tarps too!:D came in to play.

Sam? CPR devices with Adrian's faces on them would do wonders for us ladies who wake up in traction to tell our families we were rescued by Adrian!:D

Oh, my, gosh, that slope looked really steep..coming from one who has never been skiing. :)

I'm laughing as I'm reading all this, because it reminds me of all my tomboy days growing up. My brother and I slid down our snow covered 'Black Hill' on the metal trash can lid. It was so much fun flying down that hill. The only bad part was there was an older gentleman who lived at the bottom of the hill who didn't like children at all. Every time we landed our makeshift sled it was almost always in his front yard. He would come out the front door screaming at us. We would run away, giggling and a just a little scared, but loving our sled ride too much to give it up.

Sam, you must have been raised in the south. I've been rolled down a hill in a box and a huge tire. It does make you wonder how we survived it all, doesn't it? ;)

:DYep, I grew up in the south. We had to learn to be creative. I had three older brothers and two older sisters and one younger sister. So not a lot of money for toys. So we lived for the great outdoors! I was too short and scrawny for doing much housework so I had outdoor chores. And my three brothers got stuck babysitting me. I was terror on two wheels but my parents never new even half of the stuff we got into. If they had they probably would have killed us themselves.

I have to say I loved the Vid. And not just because Adrian speaks of Mooseville (which is very near and dear to my heart so THANK YOU!) and AA. Adrian looks great...still;) And it was very fun to see him laughing and enjoying life.
But I also have to say that I am glad it brought back so many memories of our childhoods to share with one another! I have laughed so hard at this thread!

Any of you ever roll down a hill in the summer time? My dad's sister use to have a house out in the country on like 10 acres of land. Her front yard was one big hill with a steep ditch at the end of it. For fun me, my brothers, and my cousins would have races to see who could lay down at the top of the hill and roll down till we hit the ditch. We'd do it over and over and then when it came time to go home we'd all be sweaty and scratching because of all the grass

I live in Michigan so snows everywhere. My drive way slopes downward, and we would get sleds like almost every other xmas, any way me and my brother would turn on the outside hose and wet the snow until it was frozen. We always ended up in the back yard of the house in front of us. My mother finally caught on after a few years and made us stop. I still stop and think "what the heck were we thinking?"

ps.Sam step away from the glue gun.

My turn for the "saddie face" icon: this borrowed computer has no audio! :(

Suuuuuuue... Viney! Please don't change the pages before I get a chance to see them, ok? My old computer should be home from the shop soon.

 Is that AP, face down in the snow? Been there!!! You should see my elbow from a surprise visit to the surface of our driveway just the other day, the bruise is the size of a kaiser roll.

I think I've been down snowy hills on everything, including nothing but my own seat when it was icy. Ice can be lots of fun, though: you should see sheep and dachshunds flying down the hill, out of control! Dachshunds are quite aerodynamic, sheep not so much. And if you want to have some more fun, get a dog or horse to pull you around on the snow on skis or a sled. It's called ski jouring.

But I've never rolled down a hill inside a tractor tire!!!! WOW!

I knew you had to be from the south, Sam. We southern children had to be creative growing up in the country like I did. And what ever my older brother did, tomboy that I was, I was game for it. I can remember he once built a tree house in the pine trees near our home. He made a makeshift ladder on the side of one tree to climb up to the treehouse, but, once up in our house in the sky, he found an excellent way to get down. He would grab the top of a small pine level with the treehouse, and let his weight swing him down to the ground. I only hesitated for a moment, then grabbed the pine and followed him down. What can I say? He was my brother, my hero, and could do no wrong. :)

And, Coolwater, the tractor tire was so much fun. Once inside, you would brace your feet and hands to hold you in as you rolled head over heels down the hillside. You counted yourself lucky if your tire rolled in a looping circle, like a top, at the end of your ride. :D

Coolwater, we promise the video clip will still be there when your computer is well again and you never know, by then, there may just be a little something to accompany it!

Now that was funny! i would havce liked to see Adrian Ski down the mountain. I recently went skiing last year. Hadn't been skiing for about the 13 years prior to last year. Surprisingly I did rather well. Had a ton of fun. Only ate snow once, and that was because I looked back to check on my ski mate. He was lagging behind and I wanted to know what was keeping him. I'm sure Adrian did fine, though was probably still amusing.

Hey Adrian, next time you go Skiing, Take me with you!!!!:D Please.:p
