I read this today and it just broke my heart. This economy is causing problems for everyone, including our four legged friends. I don't know what I would do if anything happened to my puppies and I was in a position where I could not pay......I would just have to find a way.

A very sad article. I love animals and would love to have several, but I can't afford it.

:) Hi everyone.
I can honestly say that maybe I am weird But.... Ive had my share of hard times .....But my pets and my kids were provided for NO MATTER WHAT crisis arose. Giving them up was never an option for me. If a place didnt allow pets then I looked until I found a place that did. How difficult is it to catch a fish and cook it for them?
I guess what I am saying is that where there is a Will..There is Always a way. I just see no reason good enough to abandon them.:(

I agree....My pets are part of my family too. I know when my hubby is gone I will be one of those old ladies with a bunch of cats. At least I will have a clean house and not let the cats run a muck. I used to live behind this old women who had about 100 of them....smelled so bad. County had to get involved.
