Default SPOILERS - Captain Drake

This thread is for all those lucky people that have been able to view the movie and talk about it freely here with out spoiling it for those still waiting to view it.

So lets keep all chat about what you thought about Captain Drake here and allow others to view it without anything spoiling it for them

I would also appreciate it as l am one of the unlucky ones still to have not viewed it I just need to be a little more patient and l am sure l will see it soon.

From what l have heard so far it has been received very well with people enjoying it and loving the comedy within it.

ahhh...very cute indeed...I feel like I'm 5 years old.....go ahead kick me off the forum....Adrian did a wonderful job...but He is above this type of work...and it is a ridculous movie....but I guess in these economic times...we all have to pay the bills. The Source was better, and Lost Colony kicked butt.

I really enjoyed this movie. It was light hearted and fun! I hope it comes out on dvd because I thought it was one of Sci-fi's better movies. The rest of the cast was great, especially the 2 drunk crewmen. They made me smile and that is always a plus in my book! Plus the connection to mythology from all over the world and not just Greek or Roman was fun. I am a huge mythology nut!!

Just because it was a TV movie doesn't mean it is dumb or beneath anyone! This is where you reach new audiences and fans. And if Adrian was above this type of movie (which I seriously doubt and happens to be a genre and style I love), does that mean people like me who love to watch them are beneath him?!?! I don't think so!

Can't remember when I put this up, sometime back in 2008. I'm awaiting Mr Mountebank's article on the subject later today. He flew to the US just to see this you know. I hope he wasn't disappointed!

I enjoyed it. I thought it was a good SciFi Flick. It isn't a Hollywood Multi Million dollar cinema movie, but I liked it. Adrian always looks good with a sword too.

I haven't seen it yet either, as I'm in Canada. The review I read was very positive and especially so toward Adrian! This is just one person's opinion, but a B+ is a pretty fair rating! I'm looking forward to it. Here is the link to the review, which Stephy so kindly posted on APUK and I repost here if that's OK.

Will it win an emmy? No but it was fun to watch. Adrian put just the right amount of humor to his Drake without putting him over the top. I enjoyed it, it made me smile. And of course, Adrian is great looking in period dress. I didn't agree with everything the reviewer had to say but you're right Tessa, he was very complimentary toward Adrian and a B+ is great. I didn't quite get what he meant when he said that Adrian "put too much effort into his accent". Doesn't he realize that Adrian is English with an English accent?

It is a fun "spoof" of so much we have seen from Hollywood! I enjoyed trying to anticipate just what would they do next. Everyone seemed to know that they were really just having fun.
