Say, Victoria, why couldn't we interview AP ourselves? Couldn't we ask questions that are a little more in depth than our usual "what's your favorite color?"

No wait; the problem with that is that in an interview the next question is based on the reply to the first question. We can't use Ask Adrian to ask contingent questions that way. The "interview" would be all chopped up by the time lag. Besides, half of that interview was little prompts for AP to elaborate, to continue talking. Meh.
