Hey, remember doing this sig for me???

LOL Pepe, that was quite a week when those Lost Colony pics first appeared. I think I did 15 wallpapers in about 5 days, I just couldn't seem to stop. I certainly remember that sig to, did quite a few for friends that week and I often still use mine.

Gotta face it, I'm definitely not a forum person - never seem to get around to staying up to date much less post.
A mailing list seems much faster to me, or maybe just more convenient for me.

Nevertheless, I wanted to check out the forum and get registered. So while browsing I stumbled across this thread and wanted to say:

Great work AdrianLi, very sophisticated and I agree, I really want to see the movie now!

Love the new wallpaper, Steph!
but..somebody please tell me AP didn't just throw that fag on the ground..?! ;)

Sara

...
4hrs later: Why not attach a wallpaper. Gerda was nice enough to send me some brush samples which I just had to play with..guess which subject came to mind ;)
And then I had to fulfill my "holy duty" (according to a friend) and watch the gay olympics otherwise know as the Eurovision Song Contest (waving to everyone in Europe) and report my votes via televoting to said friend in Hamburg. What else to do on the side but a wallpaper? *grin*
I've been fairly busy lately so those have been the only two in quite some time.
I'll see that I'll get the full sized -and not so blurry-versions up on the website soon.

Thanks you two!

Yes, I've been out of touch for a bit but I do stay up to date with the apfc and hlww lists.
This month has been particularly crazy and I'm currently procrastinating since I should be doing the dishes (hate that), finish an article (mind's blank) and pack (hate that even more) because I have to catch a train at 7am tomorrow morning...meaning leaving the house at 6:30...huuh, really not my time of day! :D

So did I miss any wallpapers that aren't here and weren't announced on the list? I don't think I've seen anything related to Seance so far?! (hint hint...)

Wish y'all a great weekend!
Sara

Sara L
05-16-2007, 09:49 PM
so I did half the dishes, finished the bloody article and packed everything except work and bathroom stuff. - and it's not even midnight.
that should be good enough to spend some time on something fun, right? ;)

so here's a new one for the weekend. the 1024x768 version will be available late next week or so.

I watched some of the Eurovision what a laugh i only watch it to hear Terry Wogans comments which are hilarious. What are your compares like?? Thought us brits were going to end up with Nil points at one point. LOL.

Hey Fi!

Yeah, the German commentator got more and more sarcastic, too. Especially about the Balkan connection.. ;) He also predicted 0points for England...
Can't really say I liked the song either, I'm afraid. Me being the more hand-made-music type, I liked the entries by Finland, Latvia, Hungary and I gotta say (even though you may call me biased..) I did like the German one because I consider Roger Cicero to be a very good singer and I do like the "glamour swing/big band" genre. All of them didn't stand a chance against the Eastern nationals, of course. The winning song wasn't bad but a little sappy for my taste. Sounded like a classic French chanson - which the French didn't have any luck with over the last decade if I'm not mistaken...

Anyway, back to work!

Nice wallpaper Dian, the djungle theme is matching the temperature in my apartment.. ;)

I love the fact that the movie messes with your head.
It is scary...

And LOL! I can't believe that a man I thought had the sexy eyes in the world could actually make those same eyes appear, cold, creepy and just insane!

Adrian has not been in a movie recently that I felt was as good as this low budget horror flick was--I give it 5 stars!

It was Fantastic!!!

I'm with you Pepe, I thoroughly enjoyed the movie!!!
Couldn't believe how creepy Adrian's hansome face could look and like you say those normally beautiful eyes gave me the chills.

Seance might be a 'Low Budget' movie but it is very well done. Full of suspence and fear with just the right amount of gore.
Bravo to all concerned!!! and I don't think I will be singing "Incy Wincy Spider" to my grandson for a long while!!!

Yeah--so many horror and thriller movies today try to raise your fear by the amount of blood they throw around the set. This movie messes with your mind--and I find that far more frightening. Low-budget or not, the acting was believable, the editing and presentation fantastic--

Not to give anything away--but Spence was chilling--really--
And it's good--for a change--to watch a movie where you are not quite sure what is going to happen yet--and even little Cara had me fooled at one point!

It is a shame the movie didn't get a theatrical showing--I think the reviews would have been impressive! Hopefully the awards it has won before its release to DVD will make it one of the top selling DVD's--if not one of the top rented. I know I have recommened it to everyone I know.

Yeah I would love to see this on a big movie screen. It was creepy enough on my big TV with the lights out. LOL

One thing I have been wondereing about though.... The first time I remember really noticing Adrian was when Duncan first hit our TV screens. My instant reaction was god this guy is gorgeous who is he? If Seance is the big DVD hit, it deserves to be, would my reaction be the same if this was the first time I saw Adrian?

Mind you scary guy or not I'm going to have loads of fun with screencaps of our oh so scary Adrian!!!

Oh--you are sooooooo much braver than I!! I watched it alone--while you had Lawrence with you, but nonetheless--it was pretty freaky in the daylight hours with plenty of sunshine coming through the windows--not sure I could even watch this one again--in the dark--can almost guarentee that I would have to do it in the light of day....

Did Lawrence do the sneak up and touch you after this? I know my son Bill -- knowing I can be quite a jumper when it comes to thrillers and horror movies--would have had to do it at least once--brat that he is!

Yeah--I'm not so sure I'd have the same--hello, aren't you gorgeous--impression of Adrian, if I had seen this first! LOL! Of course, I've said before that really handsome bad guys can be pretty creepy--sorry to say I didn't find anything attractive or sexy about Adrian in this--and for that I say Bravo!

I really stand up and take notice to actors who can make me forget who THEY are--in favor of who there character is! Adrian did that--ewk! He sure did!

LOL Pepe there is only one way to watch a good horror movie and that is in the dark with the lights out.
The thing that pleased me about Lawrence watching it is that he really enjoyed it. At 19 it was just his kind of movie and he was very impressed with Adrian's performance. At the end Lawrence commented that Adrian should play more bad guys.

Handsome guys do make great bad guys cos you don't think of them as nasty or evil, they have to get that side of their nature across in more subtle ways.

I agree an actor has done a good job when you forget who he is and Adrian certainly manages that in Seance.

Dear Stephy & Sara my compliments to both of you on your artistry. Adrian is a very fortunate man to have such wonderfully talented fans that can immortalize him in their work!

Wouldn't it be nice to have an art gallery set up showing all of your work at one of the Highlander conventions. I think the fans would throughly enjoy that!

Great wallpapers Steph. I could not get the link to work, but thru a little trial and error l did find some of your wallpaper.html pages. Hopefully they are the new ones, if not it just means l have more to check ;) My choice for this week is a great smiling one you have done of him at a Con, dressed all in black.

It still amazes me where you find some of these backgrounds as they make such a difference to the mood and feeling of the wallpaper.

Who ever did the original photo I took it from flipped it over. You can tell by the eyebrows. LOL

I love that expression and the grey bits in the beard are quite simply to die for.
It is on my website, along with the other half of that face and its very surprising how different the other half looks.
I will email you a much bigger file than the one on my site. It really looks quite startling on my big flat panel monitor.

LOL Pepe, I wouldn't say the other side of that pic looks evil, just rather cross.:D How can one eye look cross and the other not at the same time on the same face.

I really love the colours in that one Dian:)

I lost track long ago of how many hundreds of AP wallpapers I have made, but there are always a few that I remain particularly fond of.
This one from Duende is one of my favourites and the one from Tracker made a nice change from my usual Highlander pics.

Once again, AMAZING work!! There should be wallpaper awards, you would get them all Stephy!!! Fantastic!:p:p

Hi Ladies,
I think the other half of the face looks so different because his errant eyebrow on that side is a little "Wilder" than normal.I think he was also in the midst of making one of his funny faces in that shot.;)
I do love how you captured the difference so well.

Hi Carol, will be great if it ever stops raining and I get out in the garden. We are having the weirdest weather this year. It was warmer and dryer in April/May than it is now.
I do have a song playing in my head that I would like to use for a vid, but I have no idea when it will hit me with the right clips to use. Will let you know if I come up with something. :)

Hi Carol,
We have been lucky in our area, although we have had a huge amount of rain for the time of year, we haven't had any serious flooding
Mind you the rain has had one advantage for me...... You know I said I was all wallpapered out? Well I got bored stuck indoors so I've added some more.

http://myadrianpaulpictures.bravehost.com/morewallpapers2.htm

Weather seems to be on the mend this week, just spent a fun day in the garden with Lawrence sawing down a big tree. Lots of bumps and bruises along wth much laugter and it was great to be out in the sun all day for once.

I'm glad you got to spend some time outside in your beloved garden and with Lawrence as a special added bonus.I got to spend some time with Diane(daughter #1) as she gets ready to move from one apartment to another.:) Such joy our children bring to us.

LOL Carol I really must stop using such daft filenames, they look very silly when listed like that.:D There was a time, way back, when I began to call them Adrian 1, 2...... etc. Heaven knows what number I would be on now if I had carried on like that. LOL Now they have become totally random or to do with the colours in the picture. Quite often I just hit a few keys and end up with a meaningless string of letters.

Its so good to get out in the sunshine for a change, I do get a bit cranky when I don't see the sun for a while. Lawrence has been at home since January, after he decided to change his university course and start again in September. I will really miss him when he goes back again. I don't get to spend enough time being silly with my boys now they are all grown-up.:(

Ute thanks, and those little things on the site the link takes you to are thumbnails.. ;)
Your browser should display a white frame around the picture your cursor is on although I think some version of the mickeysoft-inherent browser sometimes has a problem with it.

Anyway. Click on the little thumbnails and they'll open in a new window. They are all 1024x768 pixels large, which is my monitor resolution..
You can then save the original size by right clicking on the picture and choosing "save as.."

Wonder what I'll do if I ever get a bigger monitor, I'd have to start all over!

Hope it works;

Oooookay, I got it. Sorry I'm blonde- sometimes very blonde LOL
The problem was, my IE didn't displayed a frame around the pics
and the cursor didn't change
So I couldn't see that these are thumbnails LOL.
I tryed doubleclick in these thumbs and now it works

Yeah, that's what I meant with "certain browsers".. :)
Sorry, I should have given a heads up on that. It works with my Konqueror, Mozilla/Firefox and Opera. I asked my brother about it and he said the next version (or maybe now the current one) of the Internet Explorer might be able to. Microsoft is behind on the innovative aspects of browsers (among other things.. ;) ).

IMHO, if you're running on Windows, get Opera. It's the most innovative browser available for windows. For example, like with my Konqueror (strictly Linux), you can simply type in gg: for 'search on google' or ggi: for google image search or imdb:, or wp: for wikipedia etc. without having to go to the searchengine's homepage first. Possible shortcuts are endless. You can program them yourself. And it remembers your last tabs so you can close the browser and when you open it back up, you get all your formerly active tabs back.
Just two features I love about it.. plus, it displays certain hover-frames... ;)

Anyway. Glad it worked!

p.s.: it's free, of course.. www.opera.com
