Hi All,
Could'nt help but to do a little research on Adrian's movie so I Googled it! Looks like the part Adrian will be playing is the poor brother whose life is in danger. Adrian's name isn't listed with the cast as yet, so I guess this is very up to the minute news. Here is a link to one of the sites I found.

I am daring to be very excited about this one. This one could be the role that gets AP a bigger break. The other cast members are well known. The main lead has already been nominated in the past for an Oscar for The Crying Game. The lead lady beat out Kate Hudson for the female lead in Kinight's Tale. Etc. etc. Fingers crossed here.

It does sound good and being amongst that cast should certainly bring Adrian's name to the attention of British audiences at last.
This is Parkland Pictures website.

This is fantastic news for Adrian and all his fans. It is what we have all been waiting and hoping for, a movie that can really push Adrian out thier into the public eye again in a big way. With the cast that is involved in this movie it is sure to do great things for Adrian's profile and bringing him to the attention of a lot of people very quickly.
Lets hope this can do what we all want and we get to see Adrian on the big screen again very soon. From what l have read on the internet so far the role sounds interesting also. Playing the politician brother (Christian) who has a very deadly rivalry going on with his sibling(Boots).
So what does everyone think, what is your opinion of the movie outline and the role Adrian is to play.
We have also found out about a week late to go into a competition to win a spot as an extra on the movie. So if you do come across this site l am sorry to say the competition closed last week.

What excellent news that AP is to be in a new film and with such an exciting storyline and celebrated cast this can only be good for his career in raising his profile in the film world, and for us fans having new material to see him in. Who knows this film may actually get a theatre release and wouldn't that be wonderful too. :) :) :)

I really like the sound of the movie Victoria and love the idea of Adrian playing an English politician.
I also hope that the cast list means that Adrian's name will at last come to the attention of the British public and film/TV industries. Considering Adrian is English it always amazes me how few people here know his name.
One thing I adore is the idea of him working with Vinnie Jones. I have a feeling those two would get on really well and have a lot of fun together.

I cant get over Vinnie Jones - what is it about bad boys and AP will have someone to play footie with in between takes - now the out takes of that I would really like to see.
And what about Lee Ryan ( prefered Duncan James but beggers cant be choosers) from Blue, I know he did some acting as a child but his first grown up role.

Yup just gotta love Vinnie. I love the TV add he does here at the moment where he gets all wet in the forest while his wife gets the car fixed with one phonecall.
Can't say I like footy, but at least Vinnie did play for Wales!!! so he has to be a good guy in my books.
If Adrian is playing a political candidate I hope we get to see him all dolled up in a smart suit to.

I hate footie as well - I watched the opening ceremony of the FA Cup final on Saturday, Manu-V-Chelsea, Russell Watson - God Save the Queen, Sarah Brightman and the other one - Abide with me, Lovely Prince William, Red Arrows, 22 players walk out on to the pitch holding 22 kids hands, The whistle blew, I turned over!

Is the actress you're thinking of Shannyn Sossamon? She would be intriguing match with AP. Of course, she may not have any scenes with him at all... I'm just pondering the possibility in my mind. :)
As Always,

This is so exciting!! Being in a movie with so many wonderful actors like Christopher Lee and Stephen Rea, that must be something special for Adrian!
Because lets face it, so far he hadn't played in a movie where the supporting cast members were bigger than him. This time it happens and it sure is a huge step!
Best of luck Adrian!

Sorry Adrian Li but I beg to differ, Adrian has acted with quite a few big stars and held his own alongside them, Tom Berenger (Last Rites)Charlton Heston, Joan Collins (The Colby's), Ian McShane (Nemesis Game) Michael York (Moscow Heat) Matt Battaglia (Tides/Phantom) Sandra Bullock, Natasha Kinski, etc, etc.,

My Best Wishes go to Adrian. He is a wonderful actor and I know his performance will shine. So of course this will put him on the map where he belongs. When I met Adrian for the first time at his play in LA I told him that I would look forward to the day when he earns his first Oscar. Adrian is truely and Oscar winning actor & he so deserves this opportunity!!!! YOU GO ADRIAN!!

Oh my gosh Sue; Jenni said the actor playing Adrian's brother could pass for his brother and I have to agree they could pass for real brothers.
Hey does anyone know if this movie is being made for the big screen, dvd, or British TV? I just hope that it won't take too long for it to be released. I am starved for something new by Adrian!http://www.smileycons.com/img/big-smileys/2777.gif

Hmmm...with this new movie information I do wonder where that Hokum Magazine Reporter is--and just what he is up to, or against???
Hmmmm....
Has anyone heard from I.M.A. Mountebank lately?
(perhaps eye borgs is too--tame for him?) --dah, no, that isn't a challenge?

Sorry Sweetie I just can't see the resemblance at all, apart from the fact Gary Stretch is tall with dark hair.

He has piggy eyes and I must confess rather gives me the creeps
Mind you I do think those rough guy ex-boxer looks suit the sound of the character he is playing in The Heavy.

LOL, Steph--do tell us how you feel! Smirk!
Have to agree in as far as they are both dark. As I have told so many people--it's hardly fair to ever compare a man's looks to Adrian's--the poor guy is always gonna come up on the short end of the stick....
I think this Gary fellah would have normally been type casted as the baddie--and like Adrian said in the article--he (Adrian)usually plays the role Gary's playing --the good guy.
I have found in afew movies that I have watched that having a handsome man play evil or bad can be very compelling--and in someway frightening--we tend to be more possible toward the bold and the beautiful....

Okay--scratch that-----
Dah--went back to read the synopsis--and Adrian isn't playing said--bad guy.....and so now I am confused.....
There are only alittle more than a handful of roles he has played where he was the bad guy.
Nemesis Game--My Favorite!
Dead Men Can't Dance.
Code Hunter
Throttle
Seance
Masque of the Red Death--
The episode from Murder she wrote
Jerci from the charmed episode
Jack--from the 2 Tarzan episodes
The rest of the roles--as far as I remember were good guys....Hmmm, whatever DID he mean???

Thee and me both Pepe. From the synopsis on the Parkland site Adrian is playing the brother I would expect him to and Gary the one that I would expect too..
Synopsis
Boots Mason has a psychotic rage in him. To control it he lives his life to an eclectic soundtrack and is never far from his music.
An energetic crime-thriller set in a world where you can trust no one and truth is a rarity. "The Heavy" explores the most important question of all?what is the value of life? Perpetually down on his luck Boots Mason is asked by his estranged family to do the unthinkable to save the life of his much loved and publicly applauded brother and rising politician Christian Mason. Dying of a rare condition that requires an organ transplant that only his brother Boots can provide, Christian is desperate to get the cooperation of his one and only brother, despite the fact, he was a key figure in sending Boots to prison for seven years. Sibling rivalry turned into betrayal between these two brothers.
To repay a long-standing debt, Boots now works as a "heavy" for Anawalt, a successful, yet shady businessman with a hand in some very questionable dealings. Boots is also trying to escape the grasp of the villainous Detective Sgt. Dunn, the chain smoking sadist of a policeman, who arrested him for manslaughter seven years earlier and has spent every day since Boots has been out of prison, trying to send him back.
Just as Boots is free of his debt, Anawalt offers him the chance to carry out a mysterious assassination against his own brother Christian. Faced with this heavy proposition Boots decides the best way to solve both the problem that comes with the pressure of being expected to give his brother the needed transplant and that of the ultimate revenge is to carry out the contract killing of his brother.
I would never have automatically associated Adrian with the character of Boots so I don't have a clue what Adrian meant by his comments on his website.
The funny thing is, I usually play the role Gary is playing, so it is fun to come at things from a different angle.

I just thought, Stephy, that the role of 'Boots' is more of an action type of character, as opposed to 'Chritian' who would seem to be a more sophisticated character. So I took Adrian to mean, in his post, that he would usually be found playing an action role.

Isn't it funny how a comment can be taken different ways???
