I gave a flower to a child
to light their day.
I gave a song to a friend
that hadn’t played.
I gave a smile to many
with even more to spare.
I gave them hugs to show
that I really do care.
To give hope let it flower

I didn't know that there was another Valentines thread here or I would not have started one on the General chit chat section, but before I continue let me say...WOW Evanstar!!! What a great inspirational poem! Your words have truly given my spirit a gleam of hope that the little things in life that most of us took for granted like a flower or a smile goes a long way to inspire others. Thank you for sharing your poem. To Adrian and Alex, my blessing comes from the heart, I wish you both love and happiness.

Happy Belated Valentine's Day Everyone


For It is Love



Let my feet trip lightly along the joyous path of life

which engulfs my heart.

Let my path bring me to the one whose life has touched mine for the better

for I will be wiser.

My heart will feel more fufilled and joy shall follow me all the days of my life

as I bask in the one who basks's in me.

Our paths shall entwine and we will share all that life has to offer, two souls

that have become one and whom seek joy in the knowledge that each is

one together.

Together we are complete and without each other we are but empty, sad,

crystaline forms that know only heartache and sadness.

For it is love which binds us together happily and takes us down

lifes' path together, never regretting for one moment the decision we have

made.

Yes, it is Love which brings us together and let's us see all that life

can become and that all things possible.

Thanks Wisdom:) I'm glad that you liked the poem. It is an original by yours truely. My great, great grandfather was a published poet who had some of poems published by Hearld House Publishing Company and I'm also working on becoming a songwriter as well.

Real true love takes time, most people who truely fall in love don't know they're in love until they have known the person for many, many, years and have experienced the good times as well as the hardships. Love isn't an all consuming passionate fire that sweeps you off your feet, but a true and strong friendship that grows into love in the long run. The truth is that you won't and don't know for a while even while it is happening to you, but eventually you realize that there is more there than a friendship. I guess one of the signs of true love is being willing to not hurt the person or turn your back on them even though they want more then a friendship and your not ready for more than a friendship. Love is patience, kindness, wisdom, being on the same path and overcoming the hardships together, yet still being able to get along and accept each other's faults even though he or she is a grouchy bear and not being reasonable, with in reason of course.

Wisdom, there is no set answer to know when you are in love but ask yourself can you live with their faults and can they live with yours as well, also ask yourself can you see yourself with them for the rest of your life and can they see you with them for the rest of their life. Lastly, Wisdom have fun in life, don't worry about finding love or falling in love because if it is meant to be then love will find you.:)
