the Void

Eva Soderstrom (Amanda Tapping) begs her former lover, engineering professor Steven Pryce (Adrian Paul), for access to the computer network of his employer, the Filadyne Corporation. Unknown to him, she downloads plans for Filadyne's current project. She then realizes that Filadyne head Dr. Thomas Abernathy (Malcolm MacDowell) is intending to create an atom-sized black hole using a particle accelerator. But a previous attempt by Abernathy to create a miniature black hole at a facility in Luxembourg produced an explosion destroying the laboratory and killing Eva's father.

After calculating the mathematics, Eva realizes that Abernathy's experiment is unstable and that it could instead create a black hole that would fall to the center of the Earth, where it would grow and devour everything in its path until it destroyed the world. She begs the help of Steven and his co-worker Dr. Jason Lazarus (Michael Rivkin) in shutting down the project. But instead Abernathy's men kill Lazarus and
pursue Eva and Steven, trying to silence them. She realizes
that the only recourse is for them to break into the Filadyne
facility and sabotage the experiment as it gets underway.
