Murder She Wrote

Former substitute English teacher and famed mystery writer Jessica Fletcher (Angela Lansbury) has a gift for solving mysteries. It seems murder follows her around, whether it
be to the houses of her seemingly endless number of friends, nieces and nephews or right in her hometown of Cabot Cove.

Adrian guested in the episode "Danse Diabolique," which
doubles as the title of the show's "cursed" ballet, which has
been performed only three times. On the first two occasions,
the prima ballerina died under mysterious circumstances
- and the same thing happens to the unfortunate young
lady who stars in the third performance.

Suspecting that murder rather than superstition is the
cause of these three deaths, Jessica investigates, at one
point posing as a scatterbrained Southern matron in order
to weed out some significant information about roses.

Murder She Wrotequotations

Jessica Fletcher: Is this what you were looking for, Edward?
(drops the skull and it smashes into pieces)

Lt. Martin Kinicki: We didn't think you'd really try and catch it, Mr. Hale.
Jessica Fletcher: I think you were afraid that if you did you might Murder She Wrotepuncture your palms on the needles embedded in the cheekbones.
Edward Hale: What needles?
Jessica Fletcher: The ones you used to poison Lily.

Edward Hale: Why would I want Lily dead? We loved each other!
Jessica Fletcher: Edward, when we first met you mentioned having been in a drug rehab program.
Edward Hale: Yeah everybody knew that.
Jessica Fletcher: So then she couldn't have been threatening you, unless it WASN'T old news anymore, which would explain your mood swings these last few days.
Edward Hale: ... this show was my last chance! If word got out that I was on pills again, I'd be finished.
Lt. Martin Kinicki: And nobody knew, except for Lily.
Edward Hale: She kept pushing me to get Claudia's role, and I did it, then when I saw he with Jeff, I thought she was going to dump me like she dumped Barry. I couldn't have that, I just wanted one thing in my life to go right.
